Real World Transmission Gear Ratio's

Found the Trans on the SRT Crossfire.  I hope it works in the PT Cruiser RWD swap.

4.46-2.61-1.72-1.25-1.10-0.84

No final drive listed but I'm sure it can be found.  Unfortunately I never leave that stock but it provides a baseline.

Fit - I think the Crossfire actually uses a Mercedes 5-Speed auto - 4.46 might be the FD

After a solid thrashing last night the ole PT Cruiser is getting bumped up a bit on my list.  Not too far but up a bit.  I'll give that FD a try when I get the chance to play with it some more.

Here are the settings for a Porsche GT3 997 Cup car from my other thread:

* gear ratios: ring & pinion gear 8/32 i = 4.0

    * 1st gear 12/38 i = 3.16
    * 2nd gear 15/32 i = 2.13
    * 3rd gear 18/31 i = 1.72
    * 4th gear 20/28 i = 1.40
    * 5th gear 26/30 i = 1.15
    * 6th gear 28/27 i = 0.96

Thanks Matio, I used the gearing in my 996 and it really changed the dynamic of the car for the better.  I'll get to updating the original post soon.

Spec Miata ratios
FD is 4.3 (4.1 for 1995-1997)
Gears are 3.14, 1.89, 1.33, 1.00, 0.89

This is from the SCCA spec rulebook, link below.  This isn't what my D-class miata runs, but I'm tempted to try it.  I'm especially intrigued because it definitely has a launch gear.  Look at first!!

Quaife QBE33G 6-speed RWD sequential
2.43 - 1.80 - 1.37 - 1.11 - 0.94 - 0.82

I just recently tried out these ratios - WOW.  A really nice set here. 

A newer alternative to the Tremecs is the ZF 6HP26 six-speed auto/sequential box:
4.17 - 2.34 - 1.52 - 1.14 - 0.87 - 0.69
Stock FDs: 2.53, 2.73, 3.46

I think this is the same Auto that 135i/335i/535i use... I'll check in a second.

PS: If you were ever wondering, I believe that BMW puts all its gear ratios in their brochures.

At least they used to...

I think I may try this setup out tomorrow:

From a BMW R1200S

Gear Ratios    
    * I: 2.28:1
    * II: 1.58:1
    * III: 1.26:1
    * IV: 1.03:1
    * V: 0.90:1
    * VI: 0.81:1
Final Drive Ratio    2.75:1 (Might be 5.016)

Just a heads up: the sprinter ratios in the first post are really good on the RX7's.  Off the line, I'm keeping up with the porsches.  I'm guessing they'd be similarly good in other extremely light cars, and I may try them on a few of the tiny terrors.

It only took two nights, and 4 months, but I finally updated the list with everything that was posted on all of the pages.  Whew!!  Feel free to add more if you have a favorite.  I still use a few and the trans from the 250 GTO real trans makes the car a real blast to drive, and a bit better to launch or pull out of a corner.
