As advertised, I like the flames.

TIG FTW!!   Grin

I just changed the colors around with a bolder blue and red on the silver car.

My fade/true flame style.

Old Shelby race paint on an old Shelby. I know its not a '67 coupe!!!

And perhaps the longest and most tedious paint to date. Its a pain to get the layers to fall in the body gaps for car porn mode.

Gotta love the smoke stain.

Looking good Drift.  That Shelby is sick! you want to trade something for it?  I don't know about the Aveo, I think it could be quite a bit more distressed, though it is nice of you to make a FM3 replica of your mom's car.   Grin

History of the Redneck Aveo ...... OK not the car but the inspiration.

One night me and the better half are coming back from getting a sweet cheese steak and house pizza. All of a sudden a four color Celica zips past at around 80. About a half a mile later, I find that same car stopped in the median facing the wrong way and turf everywhere. I know the drunks flipped it, so I call 911.

Three more miles down the road, I see the ambulance coming. In five more minutes I get a call back from 911 asking where the hell the car was. I tell them there was a car there less than five minutes ago. And look at the messed up median to prove it.

I'm guessing that they threw three or four junk cars into one and then decided that it would be really fun to wreck the car. They did. And in a true testament to old Toyota quality (and redneck tough or dumb, your choice) they fired it up and drove off. Leaving me looking like a douche. I didn't get a ticket for a crank call, thankfully.

It might still be a WIP Reno. I just don't feel like wasting much more time with it. But I am not afraid to flip it.  Grin

And the Shelby is on its way brother.

Story of the Teralingua Racing Team.

For '65-'66, the Shelby team was Ford's factory team in the SCCA. I want to say A Class, but are not 100% sure. Two years, two championships. Ford pulled the sponsorship for '67.

Having development time already in the new car, Ole Shel decided to field a private effort. Funded by him and some of his Texas buddies, they named it the Teralingua Racing Team after some land that one of them owned. And made a crest featuring a fierce jackrabbit. The only residents of Teralingua.

They threw together a few body in white '67 coupes with the Shelby Cobra 289 engine and went racing. With Jerry Titus behind the wheel, they pulled off the coup and won their third straight championship.

It got left in racing lore only to be resurrected by the kids that now own the Teralingua rights. You could have bought a new Mustang with and overpriced tape, stripe, and exhaust package that had the old crest adorning it.

I'm still waiting for the legal paperwork on infringement for the paint. lol

That's a cool story.  Thanks!

Do you have an extra one of those paint jobs?  I happen to have and extra GT-500...

Sure do!!!

I'll shoot you one whenever I get back on Forza. It does have the correct #7 on it instead of my personal 23.

I just got it!!  It looks great - Official...

I think the Ford Motor Company owes more than they could ever pay to Carroll Shelby.  This is just another example of how much and how often he pulled their fat out of the fire.

Thanks so much!
