The Free Tune List has a few hidden gems and also a few cars that I wanted to play with so I've been trying out a few. When the RWD hoppers went live I wanted a few more B-classers so I tried out two of the cars offered by GSW, a reputable garage on the daught net. I was not disappointed in either car, an '87 Trans Am as well as an Exige 240. Both had some weak points but were admittedly built for a specific track so it's no surprise that they would benefit from a little more of a general build to increase their usefulness at other venues. I had amazing success with both and I decided to take and rebuild the Trans Am first. The original build is on the list for comparisons sake. Here is my version, a blender of my parts and GSW DM Clog's tune with only a few minor tweaks on my end.

It's not biased, none of F-dogs damper settings have been applied. All I did was tweak the sway bars, increase both diff settings and run the bejesus out of it. While I know it's good to know the numbers of any car this is just a showcase that sometimes an outside the box tune has fantastic results. It turns it fantastically, pulls well on the straights, holds a steady line with only a bit of oversteer from the throttle (if applied smoothly) and I can easily get into the low 97 second range around Laguna. Don't know if that's particularly good but judging from how easy it is to run away from the pack online both at Laguna and Mugello, I think it's a very good thing. Give it a shot, build your own version, compare and discuss.
