Yep... Its Classic Muscle time again and this time we'll be breaking out the old Muscle in C-class and heading off to Monterey, California and Laguna Seca... We'll have plenty of time to take in the spectacular views too as we're going to be running in the C-class Enduro Career Race...

Don't worry though if you haven't got time for the Enduro, there's also a hot-lap and Livery side challange as well... so you should all come along, enjoy some sun and take in some muscle car action...  Cool

Muscle Inc. C Class Specs

Class C - 550 PI Max
Y Rated tires with a minimum width of 215 mm. (The GTO is allowed to run 205 mm)
All adjustable Platform/Handling parts are required.
Rear Wing is required.

Both of the Corvettes and the Chevelle are excluded.

The Challange

Career C-class Endurance Race @ Laguna Seca - Hustle your Muscle for 30 laps of this legendary road course
(and earn lots of $$$   Grin)

Please run the race with Simulation fuel and tyres so you have to make a pitstop...

Side Challanges

Laguna Seca Hot lap - How fast can you get round the track?

Classic Muscle Livery Comp - Post up your car's paint job

So there we have it my first ever challange... good luck out there and have fun.

Edit- couple of rule clarifications

Smokey, you almost made me break my vow...

I vowed NEVER to play the single player version of Forza 2, and I haven't, EVER! I made all my money and ranking nonsense racing online against real people...

But I don't think that'll stop me, I can always just set up a 40 lapper online...

anyone free tonight?  Grin Cheesy Grin

1st build

1969 Camaro SS
379 hp
419 lb-ft
3472 lbs

The weight can go lower by dropping the only engine upgrade and optimizing the wheel selection. I have to admit that part of the reason I chose american racing wheels and a street fuel system was that I wanted to pretend I was actually swapping a race carb and some wheels/tires on an old vintage racing Camaro for the Monterey Historics '09. Of course, to be accurate I should've used a small block, but hey. Wink

Actually, you can't set up a 40-lapper online.  You can set up a 25-lapper or 50-lapper.  We're having an issue with this in putting together the enduro series, too.

As an aside, I know we don't usually require certain settings, but shouldn't we require simulation race and fuel for this?  Seems pretty common-sense to me, but wanted to make sure.

And by the way, the C-classers fit well with the saloon cars that populate the top of C-class.   Davis's Caddy is going down like Paris Hilton at...well, anywhere, really.  Grin

HOTLAP   hoplee   1969 Dodge Charger   96.751

Charger = F U N !

EDIT: I'm running width upgrades on the tires. Strange thing, PI goes up by ten points or so by DOWNGRADING from Yokohama Y rated tires to Nitto. The responsiveness rating is the difference, and the game considers lower responsiveness an advantage for the Charger.

Just to clarify, the C-Class Enduro is a 30-lapper. Still long enough when you're struggling to stay awake though Roll Eyes so the lap times in the second half of my first stint were highly variable to say the least (there's at least 10 seconds in the enduro time if I'd been running similar lap times to the beginning and end.

For pits, my strategy was simple - stop after 15 laps. The front tyres were just starting to go yellow so it seemed a good idea to split the race in two. I also got lucky with the traffic - I managed to lap all the cars except Jim Davis while they were either in the pits or just exiting it. Which is a good thing because Davis was terrible to get past - he's quicker than me on the straights. I ended up going around the outside of him in the hairpin to get past.

As for the paint - I went for a KISS (Keep it Stupid Simpleton Wink ) paint scheme:

Before the race I had a redesign of the Challenger so it went from bright yellow to black, but the previous scheme was quite literally a 5 minute job to get some numbers and sponsors on for the race night we did in February so I didn't mind losing it.

In the end it's really close between me and Renowrench (welcome by the way) - I have the faster race time but he's edged me on the lap...

Good to see you all along guys, nice paints too... Welcome also to Reno... I'll let you win this if you let me win your challange over at Exodus, deal??  Cheesy

I had a quick run out in my Ghostbusters Charger last night before I had to give the new CoD a go...

I took it out for a run as it was first and then slightly updated the tune on it and managed to knock about a second off the lap for a...

BarbecuePete          '69 Charger               96.167

I'm gonna give the enduro a run in a few cars today and see what I can do..

@ Hop.... If you want to give the enudro a go at least you won't have to run all the other races first, if you're over level 35 (I think) it should be unocked.. just think of it as an extended test with traffic..  Wink

@ Fndr... I've put up that race should be run with sim fuel and tyres so that a pitstop is required... it is an enduro after all..

@ Spiny.. Yeah I noticed it was only 30 laps, thats wahat I get for posting up without checking first.. Embarrassed its now been changed in the first post

Ran the enduro in the GTO today was on pace for a low 48:30 then I got brake checked by lapped traffic on lap 23

Damage?
28% body
6% brakes
20% gearbox
29% clutch
28% steering

really fun for the last 7 laps lost probably about 2.5s per lap. Angry Angry Angry

Yeah, the charger is a strange beast where PI is concerned.  I hear that it can also go down by adding hp in extreme cases.

Edit: picture taken down til I can get on to take one with the right paintjob
