Fndr and I had quite a few close moments...  :D

In the first race, he got turned around somehow in the first turn, and I met his passenger door hard enough to take me out of contention for well, anything.  So an 8th there.

The second race was far better.  I started 1st, with Fndr in second.  After an "interesting" start, it was fndr first and me second.  Fndr and I were within 100 meters for 17 or 18 laps of the second race...then he suffered a"mechanical failure" - he can explain that - and I cruised the rest of the distance behind Spiny (who was sadly last due to an incident.

Yeah, I saw the "battery dying" lights about lap 18 or 19.  I was trying to juggle the controller and the charging cable, and went off in turn 2.  It wasn't too bad.....I managed to plug in and still hold onto second by a safe margin.  The 17 or 18 laps before that, though, were awesome, and very hard-fought.

You went off on lap 21 :)

PS:  Fndr, you were lifting your inside rear wheel off the ground on several turns, including the first turn and the long uphill right hander   :o :D

Yeah, I'm running pretty stiff springs in order to get the car to rotate.  BTW, how sad is it when for a few laps you had a closer view of your car than I did? lol

I think I saw every turn on that track through your rear window  :D

In all fairness I found out about the lifting from watching your telemetry...

I kind of suspected.  I've noticed lots of high grip cars lift a bit.  Since I can't just loosen up the ARBs and fix it, I guess I'll just live with it.  Aside from Race 1 today, I've had pretty good results with what's been a pretty consistent setup.

While I didn't look at my own telemetry as much as yours ( ::) d'oh!), I don't think I'm lifting.  I think you're running softer than I am.  It may also have to do with the fact that I raised the rear end.  What do your springs look like?  IIRC, I'm around 465/425.  And as we established, you're running far less downforce.  In short, we've got very different setups, but they seem to be dead even  :D

Rear springs are about the same.  Front are softer.  I think I started from the spring settings from Ske's FF tune.  The entire idea is to make the rear brake loose and rotate.  It's just following the front around, as far as I'm concerned.

No sadly about it. The incident was 100% my fault, and the last place fully deserved. And to think that up until then I hadn't sustained any damage in this championship :-\

Looks like I got it spot on then..  :-\

RAS really is just one of those tracks where incidents are bound to happen... I don't think i've ever had a race there where there hasn't been some sort of incident in the race...

If you watch the videos I posted up in the original Clio Cup thread you'll see that at Oulton Park (which I based using this track on) the race there is full of incidents too... Mind you, if you've ever seen any RL Clio Cup race you'll know that every race as some sort of incident, its just the nature of the racing.  ;)

You weren't the only ones. Our race turned out to be a nightmare......more so for me than the others. i was poised in first place but got a bad exit from the last chicane giving dylan a good run up my inside. we declared where we were and gave each other room but unfortunately dylan caught to much curb slide to the outside and slapped me which lifted me sideways over the curb and into the wall as we came out of the last corner. My car bounced into the wall with horrorfying love for the wall and left me with red damage all over my car. With the exception of my gearbox.

I was unable to select gears and could barely make 20mph so i pulled up and sat watching the race unfold.

Pissed i was but racing it is!!!!!!
