Spec Miata giveaway!

For a return to racing, I've prepped 12 cars for a spec race.  I'm thinking on the next Sockmonkey Saturday that I'm on, I'll probably send out invites for a race with these.  They are, as close as I can figure, Forza versions of spec miata race cars.  PI is 391.  Flywheel, clutch, transmission, and differential are all stock.  We're on Toyo DOT's at stock width and mazdaspeed body parts.  We may open up or change some rules as we go, but for now, the cars will be raced as is.  I'll give cars to the first 12 people who want them (or more if more people ask; they're cheap to build).  Sign up below.  You'll get the car (SM built, tune to taste) and a paintjob with a vaguely SCCA-inspired number box.  Put in whatever number you want.  And no, the box isn't required, but I figured it would make the cars easier to spot in the garage.  Also, it might look all cool and stuff.  Anyway, sign up below.  Bimmer's already got the first one spoken for.

What sort of time are you thinking? If it's UK friendly I'll be in unless outside circumstances dictate.

And, due to a full garage I'll have to send the car over to be specced - will that be ok?

Numbers are totally up to you.  Put whatever number on you want.  I'll note #82 up top, but I'm sending basically blank cars.  BTW, if you're not on my Friends list, you'll have to send a request (BBQ and Juan, I think?).  I'm sending these out Wednesday (Comcast sucks!!). 

Also, Blooze, I don't think we've ever raced each other.  Or, for that fact, even spoken directly.  I'm really looking forward to this. 

Spiny:  If you want to send one over, that's fine, too.  Or, alternately, you can just use the build sheet that I'm posting in my garage.

Edit:  Current SM build is posted with a bit of my rationale.  I probably repeated myself a bit for those who haven't read this thread, but it's all there.

Fndr - I'll send it over in a few minutes. You're right I could go and change the build, but it's a pain in the proverbial now that the PC is at the opposite side of the house to the Xbox, rather than the opposite side of the room as it was before so if you don't mind doing the honours... Plus I've only managed to find and unpack one working pen since the move and keep managing to lose it one day I'll restock!

If Comcast holds up their end of the deal (they were scheduled last Friday), you'll all have spec miatas about 8 or 9pm tonight.  When I figure out what saturday looks like, I'll post up about a Sockmonkey Saturday event.  I'm thinking a series and an enduro, if there's enough interest, would give these a proper breaking-in.

Well, Comcast didn't exactly hold up their end, so I've sent all the cars, but it's 11PM, not 9.  On the plus side, I did put a number on everyone's car and change the colors.  Spiny, I altered the positions of the logos slightly on yours so that they wouldn't interfere with your paintjob, which I never would have guessed contained so few layers, btw.  If anyone else wants to move the layers to accommodate a paintjob, feel free.  Actually, save both logos as vinyl groups, then go hog wild.  If people want to do team designs or whatever, that's cool, too.  Actually, my paintjob is a work in progress, but is based on a real SM that I saw and liked with a tiger motif.

As an aside, Dirt PM'd me, and he may join us for the enduro.

As another aside, Juan, send me an FR.  Otherwise, I can't send you the car.

While I guess this basically concludes the initial round of gifts, anyone who wants one just needs to ask.
