The FocusSport is such a surprise to me.  I have had one in my garage since about the first week Forza was out but had never tried it.  Some of that may be due in part to my standard "round tuit" practices, and some may be due to the Time Trials where the car is run bone-assed stock on Boomslang and to be frank, it is a bit squirrelly... at least to my way of thinking.

As built now, the Focus does rate near the top in all measurable stats - a .162 power to weight ratio for instance.  This value puts it right in there with all the Corvettes and such.  And then it has a 1.16 g@120 rating, which puts right there with the best of the AWD cars.  A pretty lethal combination that, power and grip.

I tried a Wings West Civic.  It did okay, but it will not compete with the Focus.

I was able improve my Focus' time a smidgeon - that track and I do not seem to get along.

At any rate, my new times...

FocusSport
90.334
WW Civic
90.874

Should time permit, I need to revisit the Leon Supercup, and I really do want to build an A Class Clio.  But then there is always my Round Tuit list...  :-\

Speaking of time, I am thinking we will shut this one down Monday evening.  We'll start out September with a new challenge.

BTW - the list of cars in this challenge is rather impressive - great job guys!

Blooze, if you want I could shoot you over my Clio with a round tuit in the trunk  ;) :D
It is highly likely that the above post was produced with a drippy jowl.

I gave Blooze's Focus a run tonight... and ended up with an 89.794s which is about 2/10ths slower than my build. To see how much was down to the driver I had a run in my build beforehand and the best tonight was a 89.714s (although i was 0.25 up on that before coming to grief 2 corners before the end) so it could be argued that half that gap is driver related.

To be honest though, i don't think there's anything to choose between the two builds in terms of time, but there certainly is in style. Blooze's seems to have a touch more understeer than mine and it was that which took most getting used to. Once I'd adapted the Blooze-toon kept up with my ghost until Turn 5 (on Bimmers map) where I jjust couldn't get it to turn in as I'd have liked. Everywhere else there seemed to be very little difference (time-wise) between the two cars, although I did have to diamond the last sweeper more with Blooze's car. However, in the tun down to Turn 8, Blooze's car was more stable and eked out a little bit of a lead on the ghost, but then couldn't exit as neatly and the ghost caught up again - I'd put that down to the understeer.

So, to summarise, it's a good car and is certainly worth looking at for anyone whose driving style suits stability over turn-in more than me.
