Hatchback Hired Guns - Maple Valley Reverse; CLOSED

Ford SVT FocusSport. She's fast. She's quick. She's A class. And she has a contract on her. Hired guns from the hatchback world have her cornered on Maple Valley Reverse. Can they take her down?

Your mission this week is to build an A class hatchback to beat the Ford FocusSport SVT.

The Cars:

Ford SVT FocusSport
Any Hacthback you think can beat her

The Track: Maple Valley Reverse

The Retrictions: A class--has to be type "hatchback"

I can get the Focus under 1:31. Last night I pushed the Peugot 207s around and came close but could not catch her. I was within one second.

I need a good a class MV car... I have a Jag XK that does 1:32's but I need something faster...

Just a quick question, the Honda Integra, CRX (old one) and VW Corrado VR6 are all 3 door hatchbacks, but im guessing they may be classed as Coupe's in the game (im at work so not able to check at the mo), are they allowed or not?

If not its fine, I just wanted to check, I wouldn't use the integra any way but the other 2 don't seem to get used much... unless you want a reverse wheelie car  ::) LOL

A quick "maybe" list (I'm on campus right now-Lord, it feels good to say that again!), with the admission that I'm not near the game, and frankly, I'll probably just use the eyeball test, then check later. lol

The oft-maligned Turbo5 (Sorry, it's the school thing)

BTW, if you're talking about the base integra, that's fine.  I tested one during the development of the sockmonkeys, and it was pretty well-balanced.  IIRC, the issue with the mugens is that they get friggin' huge rear tires.  A grip built one only fits about 225 hp in B class, where most similarly prepped FF cars get upwards of 250.  On a similar note, I think I'm building a Mugen S2000 just to see what happens with it, but that's another topic for another time.  lol

I wonder if the 944 counts as a hatch...

maybe the RX7? I sure wish the M Coupe was in FM2, might be the baddest hatch of all time!

(kinda hard for me to get excited about the FWD ::))

I would think you could use the Hatchback event in the Proving Grounds as a governer...  the car has to be able to qualify for the Hot Hatch Runoff to be considered legal for this challenge.

Don't worry Hop... plenty of the hatches have a RWD swap available you won't be stuck with a FWD... Im tempted to try a some RWD /  AWD swaps myself..

The challenge is to build the best Focus SVT FocusSport you can and then find a hatchback to beat it. The car specs should say body type Hatch or something similar to see if the car fits the challenge.

Personally, I can't think of a hatch in the game that can keep up with the little tuner Focus. Prove me wrong. :)

Should be good - my FocusSportFocus needs a bit of love and attention (and a shorter name - FSF?) as at the moment it's very quick, but has a bad habit of drifting everywhere. Not to mention it refuses to leave the start line until the car behind gives it a helping hand ::)

I have a couple of ideas for this (one is pink!) but I need to check if they qualify as hatchbacks first. More news tomorrow (maybe :))

Hop:  Renault Sport Clio Sport V6.  Mid engine, RWD.  iirc it qualifies (also not at my 360).

Nope, you don't have to do anything...

If you want to run the focus, go for it...If you just don't want to then go find a hatch you do want to run...the Focus is the target car...if you beat it that will only make the Ford drivers push a little harder.

Whatever you do...enjoy yourself...it ain't nothin' to stress over...
