"Der Neunelfer" Challenge Finale
« on: August 07, 2008, 07:09:45 PM »
Gimme a "+1 Saturday" or "+1 Sunday" if you want to send "Der Neunelfer" off with an online race this weekend. Sort of a 'Grand Finale Gran Prix' ;D

well, I always assume these challenges will last a month for some reason.

I'm down for either, but Saturday is fine, especially if you can start around 5pm EST or after. I'm workin' downtown until 4pm. :-)

This is the last call for objections. Unless someone makes noise now, the Finale will be on Saturday evening.

Just as an aside, keep these built unless you have other plans for the cars; there's a chance these will be run when I get back online in a little over a week.

Just sayin....

Races will begin tomorrow between 8 and 9pm EST US. I'm not saying you shouldn't go ahead and set up a Neunelfer Only (or NOT?) room with at least 4 friend slots before then, I'm just saying that's when the main event goes down. We'll keep racing until we get cross-eyed, and not every race will be Porsche only.

Get ready, and remember, this is the only truly unique sports car in the game.

PS: I think Bimmer may have had a silent 'eureka'! with the grand old girl last night. She was born in 64, but bimmer sure convinced her to kick up her heels!

PPS: Great racing last night, EVERYONE! ;D I never heard a complaint about the cars, and even when restrictions opened up, the Neunelfers generally showed no mercy in either A or B class. NICELY DONE! :D Also figured I should mention that DMR Switch was his usual self and may yet contribute lap times tomorrow!

Anyone who posted a +1 is considered attending till I hear otherwise. The rest of the heathens can give a +1 if you're in. Prizes may be available, but may or may not be painted in an embarassing scheme of rainbows over chrome... ;) (Spiny....)

Please feel free to create your own prizes and prize cars, say for highest dmg penalty accrued during one race, player is awarded a Bentley battering ram?

If there's interest, I can start a lobby earlier tomorrow to do some practice and warm-up.

Yeah, Miss Porsha and I came to an agreement, if you know what I mean  ;)

Thanks to online racers:
Detrick
bimmer
bbqpete
Juan
Snyder
USDMdrifter (where's SB?)
and everyone else!

Give a shout-out if I missed anyone will ya?

We had quite a few guests and a full Neunelf dominated room most of the night despite technical difficulties on both a macro and micro scale. The racers were,on average, some of the most consistently clean drivers I've run with. I say "on average" because we had some real SNAFUS during at least 3 starts, annd that was AFTER my 30 second safety speech about going 3 wide usually killing people... :D

Who was that who decided to go four wide before turn one on Mugello??? Hmmmm?

LOL... I was at the back and just saw a rocketship of a 944 fly up the inside and scare the life out of everyone!!

I managed to sneak through the carnage and up to about third.. lol

Great racing all night, close, clean and a whole lot of fun

Of course Hop isn't really one to talk about keeping it clean though... All I'll say is don't try and pass him on the last turn at Sunset Reverse unless you want to make a pitstop...  :o

It was funny though Hop so i'll let you off... LOL

I remember thinking, "BBQ sure is bringing a load of that hot sauce into the last corner, and he's probably going to use me for braking... I'll just veer into the oncoming collision to avoid getting bumped off my line and into the wall"

What actually happened is that Pete came screaming into the turn on my inside, last corner, last lap. In hindsight, he MAY have been able to actually hold that line of his cleanly! However, bimmer and I had been playing a little "rough" last night, so I reflexively moved to defend the line and accidentally sent Pete into an unplanned pit stop!

"Pete? Hey Pete? Where'd you go?" (*sounds of Pete screaming)

LMAO! :D
