I prefer to do real world replicas.  I've never bought a design, I'd rather do them myself.  But I have traded for or bought a couple logos that ended up on the Subaru.

A few fictitious schemes.

I have a few other works in progress I either got bored with, or didn't like how they were turning out.

And lastly, a sampling of the logos I've done.  If someone is interested in these, contact me.  I'm no longer really selling logos (bad experience with a daught netter).  But I will gift them to you if I feel I can trust you that the logo car doesn't end up spammed all over the auction house.  I think it's shameful that logos in themselves have become a profitable item.  To me the finished livery is the goal and I would much prefer a free trade of logos.  Call it a LGPL license, the logos are free for you to use, modify and sell as part of a your original work, but please do not sell or try to profit from just the logos.

I have seen some terrible looking logos, especially 'GULF'. Yours look very accurate to my eye. *bravo* Nice job on the Firestone.

Oh, and even though it makes the nose of the 2000GT look even loooonger, I love the pinstripes!

Thanks, one of my other hobbies is building model airplanes, so I have an eye for details and strive for accuracy.   I've bought some of the logo cars other people put out and invariably end up redoing a lot of them.

Geez, another Facet - Collecting Logos... will it ever end...  Will it EVER end...

:D

Those are great!  I need to start gathering those kinds of things as saving them as vinyls... in case I ever paint something besides flames...  :-\

It's hard to do race replicas without logos.

Outstanding cars man! I love the BRE Datsun, I was going to paint mine like that, once I got the time. Good pick for the Lancia also, the Alitallia one has been done a little too much, you don't see the Marlboro version that often. Ooo and the Psychedelic Ferrari was on my list to do also!

I liked pulling out the preorder car online, since most people didn't have one.  About a week ago I was curious how the standard 350Z compared so I built one up.  Along with it I did the pre-order scheme and then modified that to represent the game cover version that added number plates and a couple other differences.   I've never found a pic of the front end so that was total speculation.

For those curious of the these were both done with AWD swaps.  With the same engine options the basic car was lighter and had PI points to spare.  The biggest difference was aero.  The preorder car has adjustable aero parts included with no upgrade available and has the double the downforce of the base Fairlady Z but also higher drag.  The default tune for the preorder car is also much stiffer.

That is so cool!!  I'll swap somethin' for one. ;)

Looks like you may need to use their version of a table... :(

Gift me a car to put it on and I can paint it and get it right back to you.  Is there a tutorial on the table function?  I'd just cut and pasted the html from a post I put on daught net saw that really didn't work and was cleaning it up as you posted.

I'll send you the car in a bit.  Thanks!!

As for a tutorial, I looked for something the other day when I was trying to sort out the picture size problem and couldn't find squat.

Here's what I've been able to figure out (I boogered the tags so it will display...
  • The Table, Row and Column are all nested.  Additional columns are not nested.  You can arrange them how you want, and clicking one gets you the tag (like everything else)

[table
[tr
[td Col1 [/td [td Col2 [/td
[/tr

or

[tr [td Col1 [/td [td Col2 [/td [/tr

  • Column formatting has to be done on a per column basis.  You can't set a Font for a row.

[tr [td Col1 [/td [td Col2 [/td [/tr

  • If I am moving data in, then I build a template row with X in the Columns so I can Cut and Paste.
  • That's about it really

Hope that helps some... ;)

thanks for the Marlboro Lancia! It's a beautiful paint job and the details are so well executed that they just have that 'pop' you get when something is right-on.

I hope you enjoy the R390 GTP ZX-T tribute paint job I sent you. Feel free to toy with the details on it, I'm not sensitive like that and appreciate suggestions. One area I find especially troublesome is the red and white field around the cockpit. The current design leads the eye around the shape well enough and distracts from the stock body lines but is not completely faithful to the original.

Thanks again for your help TC, I couldn't have done it without your help! ;D

Glad you liked the car Hoplee, and thanks for the gift in return.

For the latest challenge I painted up my VTi after setting some times in it.
