It stands for Quick Rank.

It has been discussed for a while and the tracks that are the standardization are the ones that Spiny posted.  Rather good way to see how good a car is other than its PI number.
Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Awesome! Thanks guys.

I ran this challenge through today once with a Shelby.  I tried to do the ZR1, but just couldn't make it feel the way I like. I took a break and tried out a Boss 'Stang, and loved it.  The sound, the feeling, was all great.  With that in mind, I went for a quick QR of that and also the Shelby, and found I was slightly faster in the Shelby, so I ran the challenge in that.  I haven't done a lot in the way of tuning yet.  Built it up with Aero and Sport weight, Good Year tires, no width, and it took a fair bit of power to bring it up to 700.  I might still play with a couple things (power for tire width for one), but I like the way it feels so far.  I ended up putting a FDog v5 toon on it, but had to loosen up the springs, especially in front, because they ended up far too stiff for me.  I still have yet to play much with the ARBs, alignment, or diffs, so I'm sure I'll have some improvement with some more time put into it, but I've got some times to start with, so, here goes!

Shelby

Race times:
Sebring Short: 560.866
Suzuka West: 526.577
Tsukuba: 561.119
Road Atlanta Short: 499.979
Sunset Short: 455.367
Total: 2603.908

Fastest Laps:
Sebring Short: 78.211
Suzuka West: 84.629
Tsukuba: 61.207
Road Atlanta Short: 60.795
Sunset Short: 63.263
Total: 348.105

QR (Road Atlanta, Sebring Short, Tsukuba): 200.213

(Gosh, it looks so official with all the bold and colors! It's like I'm a real person!)

edit: Okay, so I'm not a real person.  Forgot CAR NAME!

edit 2: New times posted later!!

I put the Kid on a diet and put in the C Class tune I liked so much.

Look at the times and wonder what I think of it.

Shelby GT-500 KR

Race times:
Sebring Short: 545.092
Suzuka West: 507.417
Tsukuba: 535.053
Road Atlanta Short: 481.504
Sunset Short: 443.038
Total: 2512.104

Fastest Laps:
Sebring Short: 76283
Suzuka West: 82.460
Tsukuba: 58.401
Road Atlanta Short: 58.836
Sunset Short: 62.028
Total: 338.007

QR (Road Atlanta, Sebring Short, Tsukuba): 193.520

Me likey very, very much. Sunset was the only track that didn't have a major reduction of time. Total time reduction was 30 seconds. I know I can knock off at least two seconds off of the Rd Atl time because I messed up on turn one twice. Once walking it out of the grass. So this car is not fully timed out just yet.

I have redone the ZR-1 and that one is next. The theme is how much can I improve with pure lightweight cars. Took a little more weight off the ZR-1. Then I have two fiery fishes that may do some damage. One with a lightweight and another with a sport weight. Then there is a 2600lb Boss complete with stock power, flywheel, driveline and 'hood rat dubs on it. It looks bad (as in awful). I want to see if it runs bad before going back up with the weight.

I don't have the time to run all these actual races but I did a few quick laps with some cars I already had and you guys are smoking me!  I ran a Camero SS and a Trans Am.  The Trans Am was definately quicker.

I got two more of them built with the 50/76 Toon - the Stingray and the Barracuda.  I really like the Stingray.  It and the Z28 are scheduled for more attention once I finish initializing each of the cars.

Sebring Short: 550.317
Suzuka West: 507.532

Total: 2533.665

Fastest Laps:

Total: 342.764

QR (Road Atlanta, Sebring Short, Tsukuba): 195.781

This build (50/76) is extremely quick, not oversteer-ish, but quick.  And it is taking a bit to get used to it.  I'm looking forward to seeing what it does with FF, RR, and AWD cars.

Started re-running the Shelby.  I took the weight to the race level while still keeping some of the power.  So far, it hasn't vastly improved my times.  .400 slower on the whole race on Sebring and a bit slower on the lap at Suzuka.  HOWEVER, I improved the best lap at Sebring by .400 and the race time at Suzuka by 6 seconds, so it's not too bad.  I also took it for a quick run on RAS before I started and beat the lap by a good second+, so I'm looking to get some good improvement at that and Tsukuba, which I'm much better at running than Suzuka anyway.  We'll see how it all goes.

Hi TravBot,

I used to be pretty active here and was about mid-pack speed wise but it appears while I've been on vacation from Forza everyone else has stepped it up a notch or two.  I would say it's just old age but then I'm only mid-pack there too.  So good job guys!

Spanky's Speedshop reporting for this months challenge.  Ran the gauntlet with the world famous "Stardust", my grippy, go-to Camaro Z/28.  No where near as fast as Serials but my favorite Muscle Inc car.

Here's how she panned out on her initial run through:

Stardust - 69 Camaro Z/28

Race times:
Sebring Short: 557.828
Suzuka West: 509.140
Tsukuba: 543.145
Road Atlanta Short: 491.284
Sunset Short: 452.602
Total: 2553.999

Fastest Laps:
Sebring Short: 78.143
Suzuka West: 83.287
Tsukuba: 59.371
Road Atlanta Short: 60.102
Sunset Short: 63.305
Total: 344.208

QR (Road Atlanta, Sebring Short, Tsukuba): 197.616

Very pleased overall but I did notice more wheelspin on Suzuka and Tsukuba than I remember.  I'll be looking at spring rates to fix it, I balanced this car to heat the tires evenly for consistancy but I think she's a bit stiff.  Diff settings look normal for me and being the lowest HP car of the eligable lot I doubt that's the only culprit.

On deck, "Fascination"  than a rehash of my "Flaming Surfboard"  (why is it that these cars have names and none of my others do??)

Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Right on.

So, I chose a 1970 Dodge Challenger.

Not the fastest brick on the road but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. If I could drive more precisely I bet the car would have much better times. I'll make some changes to it and try again probably but for the first shot through I got:

1970 Dodge Challenger

Race times:
Sebring Short: 564.094
Suzuka West: 529.521
Tsukuba: 560.262
Road Atlanta Short: 520.247
Sunset Short: 465.892
Total: 2640.016

Fastest Laps:
Sebring Short: 79.170
Suzuka West: 86.748
Tsukuba: 61.018
Road Atlanta Short: 63.483
Sunset Short: 64.793
Total: 355.212

QR (Road Atlanta, Sebring Short, Tsukuba): 203.671

I'm sure it would do WAY better in the hands of drivers with a year of experience under their belt since I still tend to take many corners inefficiently. I have yet to learn the timing behind the several tracks not to mention every car handles differently and I don't have a driving wheel, which I'm guessing makes steering much easier. But I did my best, for now.

After some tweaks I'm hitting the road again...

Update:

So I made some changes.

Basically I changed tire brands which made it so I could increase tire size. I also changed the air pressure in the tires and finally I softened the overall suspension using the Tonka/Booze calculator found on the site.

Well, I must say the difference is noticable.

My new time on Sebring at least. The changes are small but I think I'm still driving the car soft after the changes. I think the handling has increased more than I've pushed it so far.

Race times:
Sebring Short: OLD=564.094 NEW=561.657

Fastest Laps:
Sebring Short: OLD=79.170 NEW=78.368

I'll update the official list after the entire run.

So here are the times for the GTO with the build I put up...

First with the std 3.30 F.D. setting

Pontiac GTO

Race times:
Sebring Short: 557.888
Suzuka West: 517.046
Tsukuba: 551.929
Road Atlanta Short: 500.047
Sunset Short: 450.923
Total: 2577.825

Fastest Laps:
Sebring Short: 78.167
Suzuka West: 84.059
Tsukuba: 60.048
Road Atlanta Short: 61.198
Sunset Short: 62.800
Total: 346.272

QR (Road Atlanta, Sebring Short, Tsukuba): 199.413

Then with a 3.10 F.D setting... All other settings remained the same.

Pontiac GTO

Race times:
Sebring Short: 555.019
Suzuka West: 512.584
Tsukuba: 548.187
Road Atlanta Short: 494.708
Sunset Short: 448.535
Total: 2559.033

Fastest Laps:
Sebring Short: 77.914
Suzuka West: 83.848
Tsukuba: 59.636
Road Atlanta Short: 60.146
Sunset Short: 62.428
Total: 343.972

QR (Road Atlanta, Sebring Short, Tsukuba): 197.696

It did feel slightly faster with the new F.D setting and that seems to show in the overall race times with a 17 second improvement and 2 second improvement in QR. The new FD setting worked really well at Tsukuba as it meant I didn't have to change up to 5th just before the last corner only to have to change down to 4th again to take the turn... I could keep 4th and just brake slightly so taking a bit more speed and a smoother line, I think this is where most of the time came from on this track.. I was suprised with the times on Sunset though, I expected to go faster than I did with the new F.D setting, It was about 5mph faster down the straight but it didn't carry through to the times, I may try this car again with less Aero and see how that goes...

So..  I was having a look round my garage before going out for the second run with the GTO and came across my old A-class 67' Stingray hiding under a dust sheet at the back.... She's not been used for a while, so I got her out and gave her a quick re-build to muscle Inc spec... its currently in the shop having some tweaks,  and also having a special Muscle Inc. paint job applied which should give at least 5 seconds on its own  :D
I'll post pics soon...
So here she is, its a simple private race team livery, but I think it suits it well....

The Build...

434bhp - 470lb-ft - 3094lbs
Sport (Dot) tires (BF Goodrich) with +2 width
Full Race platform, no WR
Sports Intake
American Racing (470) (std size)
Rear Aero

The toon... (If its not shown its std)

Tires _ 28/29
Camber _ -1.2 / -1.0
Toe _ -0.1/0.0
Springs _ 635.1 / 529.9
ARB _ 16.58 / 19.82
Rebound _ 9.3 / 7.7
Bump _ 4.7/3.9
Brakes _ 55/110
Diff _ 25/40

67' Stingray

Race times:
Sebring Short: 554.416
Suzuka West: 511.361
Tsukuba: 555.305
Road Atlanta Short: 491.761
Sunset Short: 451.558
Total: 2564.401

Fastest Laps:
Sebring Short: 77.501
Suzuka West: 83.119
Tsukuba: 60.179
Road Atlanta Short: 59.875
Sunset Short: 63.493
Total: 344.167

QR (Road Atlanta, Sebring Short, Tsukuba): 197.555

Im not sure what to make of this build, it felt quick to start but on the first 3 tracks it didn't inspire confidence and suffered from mid corner understeer in the faster turns, so I wasn't looking forward to Rd Atlanta with those fast sweeps... But on that track this setup just came alive, it flew through the turns with ease, the understeer was gone and was replaced with just a hint of oversteer, and in the end I got a new PB on this track.. Sunset though was a big disapointment, I was really expecting more from this car there... may try the 3:10 F.D on this car and reduce the aero a bit to see if that cures the understeer in the fast turns.. I can say for sure though that there is more time to be had out of this car than the GTO has left...
