@Shiny: I think it's a very good primer into the subject. Nicely written... you've been saying that the next one is in the making for over a year now  ;) However, regardless on how long it takes, i'm looking forward to reading it.

Not sure how many of you are interested in this, but here's a few images of the finished car (by courtesy of sphilli22):

I agree.   That is one sweet looking ride.  I've been dabbling in the Porsches lately.  Once you get the feel for 'em they are a lot of fun to drive.

I'm gonna be frequenting this thread all this week.  My next projects are a 996, a 997, a Cerrera GT and a Cerrera RS.  After my Caymen seemed to be a flop (B-Class, grip) I think I'll move up to the big boys.

I'll have to post pics of mine, mostly fantasy liveries by Fruitster and one by Uxeta.  Love 'em, just haven't driven 'em.

Very nice Matio, I like the color scheme.  I tend to shy away from Yellow and Black for fear of it looking like a Bumble Bee.
Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Glad you like'em... well, the color scheme (black and yellow) is the one of the original car (www.tolimit.de), so...

And due to the help of ske and feuerdog they even drife nicely, especially the RS...

Oh, and just to share it with you: The slogan on the side "Begeisterung ist unser Antrieb" translates very well into English as well: "Enthusiasm is what drives us!"  ;)

Built out my first Rear Engine Porsche tonight.  It is a 996 so not quite the same car but boy was I having fun learning it.  I used your gear ratios but ran a 3.55 FD instead, WOW that really woke the car up a bunch.  I ran 5-6 laps on a couple of different tracks so no specifics to report yet.  Started my own 996 thread so not to totally highjack this one.

Thanks for the gearing in two ways, one to make the car faster and the other to get my butt going on these cars.

Matio, Fit's thread is hiding out at Spanky's Speedshop.

Those paint jobs are amazing, you did a fantastic job on them! Good choice in getting sphilli to take the shots too, it really showcases the paint work.

Thanks...

yeah, I realied I s**k at taking pictures and I envy sphilli for his pictures, so I just asked him if he would take the cars for a spin and take a few pictures (and keep teh cars). Fortunately he is a Porsche fan and hence we had a deal... ;)

Oh, and thanks for pointing me to the thread!
