Ok, spreadsheet posted.  It is blank at the moment, but you can see I'm planning a pretty complex spreadsheet for this one.

Let me know if it works  :)

Edit:  I forgot to post to post it up in the proper format.  It is now posted up in both 1997-2003 ( .xls) and Office 2007 ( .xlsx) formats.  I use Office 2007, hence the '07 format.

Something tells me this isn't one for the R390 ;) I think I might have to run the Viper CC this time and see what gives...

Don't discount the turning cars on this track...

But it will be interesting to see how it turns out!  :)

Oh, god.  I really need to figure out a better way of preventing missiles...

I'm gonna get trounced, aren't I?  :-\

I did build out a missile z06, but the Ligenfelter was slightly faster, so i ditched it.  but i'm looking forward to trying out a lot of these cars.

Sooner or later I think most folks figure this out but...

Missile builds really don't reflect the Muscle, Inc. approach. Even if a car like the Lingenfelter does exist in real life it is not the kind of car we would use in a challenge. Same for a car like the Hennesy.

The tuning challenges are about tuning not about having the fastest car due to horsepower in gigantic amounts. We take a car for what it is and try to enhance it. Missile builds constitute a major re-engineering of the car to be something it was not intended. The restrictions are in place to manage parity between cars. You will notice that Muscle, Inc., LMMS, and ALS all strive to put a reasonable car on the track similar to what one would find at a local event. We always draw from some existing model, like pro-touring or gmachines or Trans Am specs.

We still run cars that are not muscle cars primarily to accomodate interests of members where other cars are concerned. But those challenges always reflect the same bias about real world numbers and realistic builds. I recently ran a Solstice event but held it to B class because anything higher just made it a different kind of car.

As a member of the forum I hope that we can continue to honor the philosophy of Muscle, Inc. and try to avoid challenges where it appears we are inviting missile cars to this site. I know that it has been allowed as the personal interests of a few members. But it really doesn't fit what we do here.

No disrespect intended. But I worry that we stay on task here.

The problem i see here is that in S-Class a missile build is much more tame compared to most other cars.  In essence i could build out an incredible fast C6, but i could go faster using something more toward grip, such as a Viper or such.  You don't gain much due to HP in S-Class (shown through the LB missiles- GT40 and 432R).

The GT40 is just a bullet, and tops at 250, so yeah it's gunna be fast.  While the 432R is AWD (same as the missile Caymans) and is only a "missile" due to acceleration, as it has the Top Speed of a C6.

DD - I'd love to require more, with the goal of more parity(and, if you look at the thread in JEi, I'm already pondering it).  Problem is, some of these cars can't take race weight reduction (I know the Diablo GTR, SLR McLaren, and Viper CC can't.  I don't think the Carrera GT can, either.

Your post here and Blooze's post in JEi have me rethinking this whole spec...

Dude, that's seven new cars. What kind of math do they teach you in prep school? :P

Thank you for the SV. It trounces the GTR.

Will be interesting to see what cars can take turn one flat, if any.

I'll edit once I read what is Up in the other board. (response in JEi)

bimmer, start with trying to figure out how the Supercar group reflects the Muscle, Inc. approach. If you are having problems with parity the next step would be to trim the garage list. Then, put a horsepower cap to avoid PI exploits if necessary. What you want to be able to explain is why these cars are in this group and why they belong in Muscle, Inc. challenges.

For me, personally, as long as members here have an interest in applying the Muscle, Inc. approach to S cars I think it is a good idea. But we need to keep it as close to street as possible. Perhaps you really don't need the weight reduction. Otherwise, I would rather run American R class cars.

But it definitely needs to reflect the perspective of Muscle, Inc. when it comes to builds. Otherwise, I don't think it belongs here.

I would say that there is a difference between running highly modified S-Class cars and running R-Class... alot of it comes down to customization.
