I was feeling pretty good about the Road Atlanta Short run from last night. Turns out it was actually a 59.040! So off I went to check the hotlap leaderboards to see where I stacked up.

carp!
So I decided to perform a quick analysis of the top 500 B-Class times on this track. The results were a little surprising and a little disappointing. Once again the Mugen Integra is king. *yawn. The top time on the track is an astounding 55.757. (For comparison, the top A-Class time on this track is a 53.486.) I was a little depressed to see the swarm of Integras so I went through the next 500 times looking for a more interesting (pleaseRWDohplease!) car that could keep up. The first RWD time on this track is all the way down at #195 where an Exige Cup 240 recorded a 57.388. The next closest RWD time is #450 in, you guessed it, another Exige! I found just one AWD car at #413 and I have to say I smiled because it's one of the very few north american AWD turbo cars, the Eagle Talon (it was a joint venture! it counts, right?).
Going through the rest of the times yielded very few cars that weren't FWD. Out of the top 500 times, a grand total of seven weren't. I have listed them below in order of place:
#195 Exige Cup 240
#413 Eagle Talon
#450 Exige
#451 Jaguar XK Coupe (whiskey tango foxtrot?!)
#460 Fairlady Ver. S
#465 Border MR2
#481 RX-7 Gen 3
The nice thing is that they were all different cars (even though two of them were just different versions of the Exige). What I would like to know is, can the Dino break into this crowd? To find out, I'm going to need a more talented driver than I am. If anyone would like to volunteer, I can send you a custom painted Dino to run hotlaps in. I think Chuck Norris is busy, so I'm asking you guys. Anyone care to 'man-up'?
