@ Team Europe:

Looks like Moosejaw is running the Sting Ray in Exhibition, so I'd suggest that is a good combination (are you ok with that Moose?). There's a part of me wanting to regress to childhood and build an A-Team Corvette, so I'd quite like the GS. That would leave Ske with the ZR-1.

Is that ok with you guys?

I enjoyed tonights practice, even though my mike decided to only receive and not transmit towards the end. Probably didn't help that I didn't have a car built either :-[ but I think the Guldstrand gave a respectable showing, and at least it helped us get an all 'Vette race. Now if only I hadn't joined Serial in giving the competition the tyre pressure advice :'(

The Sting Ray it is!

Alright, I've put up my findings over in my Shop section.  I'm going to put the link to it here as to not clutter up this thread with all that jargon.  (But feel free to talk about it in here as I think it's pertinent)

http://www.muscle-inc.net/index.php/topic,552.0.html

Anybody have any thoughts on my findings ?

Yes, I have done the same thing but find that I ran my best with the CF supercharger because the car seemed more docile with the same speed. But, Ske has me thinking more torque might benefit the S curves so...guess what...I am going back to try the other. LOL

It just seems so weird.  According to my numbers, the P.D. should be the better running car.  Maybe the difference is in the cams ?  I don't have a cam in the ZR-1P car...maybe that will be my next test session.

ZR-1 it is! It seemed like quite a handful without the rear lip, so I might try to run it at a lower PI or see if I can squeeze another weight reduction in.

Just did a quick 3-lapper in the GS for an 83.735 (CF blower, DOT, 499hp/3000lb), for reference :)

Edit @Dirt:
I'm actually not sure if you can put that extra torque down properly in these cars.. you might need some DF and big slicks to really benefit, as these cars have massive torque any way you twist em. If you can't go flat out when exiting, you might be better off with more top end - I think a good old fashioned A/B is the only way to find out.

Looks like all I'm gonna have to do is show up and drive.  Serial is on a tear with the setups.  :)

Spiny, how you work out the cars is completely up to you...you can have all three guys run all three cars and take the best times or whatever...totally unstructured...most everyone is using the one car/one driver approach to make it work as an actual team...but there is no rule...probably should be but since we have fantasy characters involved the reality is that some shops have one real driver for all three cars...so this accomodates everyone...

DD

DD, thanks for clarifying this.  I wasn't sure if maxing the team score by having each driver run all three was going to be legal.  That was what my competitive instinct instructed me to do.  :)

yeah, it is just for fun...If we were going to be serious about teams I would have to eliminate fantasy characters...maybe in the next challenge...but I think in that situation the teams need more advanced notice to pair up...A Mustang Roundup is in ALS future plans so maybe then.

Gavin'll be taking the Stingray, I'll take the GS, and Will's taking the ZR-1.

Times to come.
It is highly likely that the above post was produced with a drippy jowl.

JEi (bimmer), GS: 84.702
JEi (Gavin), Stingray: 84.994
JEi (Will), ZR-1: 84.570

You can expect a story explaining how Gavin ended up in a stingray.  Oh, and I'll explain who Will is, too!

I wasn't expecting this:  the Stingray is the slowest of the group in a straight line, 10mph slower at the end of the straight than the ZR-1.  The GS in right in between.
It is highly likely that the above post was produced with a drippy jowl.

Smaller teams might work better, too... up to you.
