Ah, I have the widest tires as well, and Goodyear slicks because..well...you know..  I'll fire up the Xbox for a few this afternoon (got some real-world work to do) and get my exact build.  I'm thinking I was at almost exactly 3200, but I'm running the American Racing rims at the moment, the torq thrusts.  Doesn't seem like there'd be 30 lbs between the two sets of rims, but I'm sitting at about 846, so I've got some room to play.  My guess thus far is that this is the most PI-forgiving of the cars within the restrictions, since I did everything I could and still have room left.  I'll have to figure out what to do with my four points of "play."  I might try yanking off the wing, once I have a baseline build going.

Yes, welcome to the world of the ZR1...I bolted everything and the Kitchen sink onto the engine...this car is hot in pretty much any Muscle, Inc. and ALS config.

I started building to 850, and noticed I had more than the allowed hp....should be a good challenge, though.  I should get ina  few laps of stock test-driving today, if I'm lucky (wife has a chiropractor appt)

Aside:  Are you out of school today, Dirt?

Well, just to confirm that Team GB has followed the Ryder Cup lead and become Team Europe. Our line-up is:

Moosejaw
Pzr Ske
Spiny Anteater

If I understand correctly, we're all meant to run different cars, so all I need to know from my team-mates is which car's they're running, and which one I'm left with :P

Spiny, how you work out the cars is completely up to you...you can have all three guys run all three cars and take the best times or whatever...totally unstructured...most everyone is using the one car/one driver approach to make it work as an actual team...but there is no rule...probably should be but since we have fantasy characters involved the reality is that some shops have one real driver for all three cars...so this accomodates everyone...

I am beginning to think horsepower is horsepower, no matter how you make it. Serial and I traded notes on my PD supercharged ZR1 and his CF supercharged ZR1. His torque is less than mine but they both had the same speed down the backstretch.

I've always acted as if this is the case, even though I know that there's a difference.  Basically, I'm not technically savvy enough to pick out the differences, and I doubt they'd make a difference, though I am starting to pay more attention to torque than I did before.  Still, I basically try to fit in with the PI and restrictions as well as I can and leave it at that.

It's tricky to measure the rate of acceleration with the Forza's telemetry though.  The torque curve may make a difference there, but I suspect it will be slight if you are hitting the same top speed on the straight.

Cams extend the max horsepower rpm range, though... I've never considered torque that important for straight line speed, mostly for keeping momentum up in the twisties and for allowing me to shift less. I think torque is important at this track for that reason... I may not be faster on the main straight, but you'll be quicker around the rest of the track - assuming you can put that power down ;)

Glad to be a part of Team Europe! As team manager, feel free to delegate cars.. I don't have a strong preference around this track :D

We just finished our second online test and tune session (Thanks, Serial, Spiny, Fndr, Snyder)

A couple of observations:

1. It seems the hidden time is on the downhill S curves if you have some to make up. The backstretch is a gimme for whatever you build has got in it. Once maxed there just doesn't seem to be more you can do. But a couple of us found significant time in the S curves. Thanks go to Serial for that tip. Look at Ske's comment above...seems like a sound application for this track. Thanks, Ske.

2. Most of the guys were running 28 psi. My handling woes dissipated quite abit when I followed their lead.
