ALS/500 Challenge: Drivers for Hire
« on: February 08, 2008, 09:40:10 PM »
Well, I keep getting asked about this so I might as well post it up...But it doesn't open till Monday!

Road Atlanta
Sting Ray, ZR1, Grand Sport
A class
400-500 hp min and max
3000 lb minimum curb weight.

Here's the deal. You can drive as a privateer and run as many of the Vettes as you want.

Or...

You can sign on to be hired as a driver for one of the existing shops...Like Spanky's or D2XL, in which case the team has to post times for all three cars cumulative.

Or...

You can create your own shop/team and run characters from your garage and/or hire some of the members here to fill out your team. Again, all three cars/cumulative time.

So, Those of you individuals who are putting yourself up for hire...Post in this thread and see who snaps you up. And you guys looking to recruit can post a help wanted notice here as well.

Well, I'm the only driver at my place, so I guess I'm for hire on this one.

It is highly likely that the above post was produced with a drippy jowl.

Well, Spiny's Slow Tunes currently only has me, and maybe Brian if we can coax him out of retirement. So, we are hiring for now, although if nobody signs up we could end up looking at a co-op pact with another shop :)

ACtually i think i will run under AMR, so if anyone wants to join my garage, just tell me.  Fndrbndr, wanna join American Missile Racing for this challenge?  I'll throw in a cookie  ;D

Spanky's Speedshop is currently looking for one driver to fill in for Johnny as he is MIA since the last event.  I've had extensive interviews with fndrbnder and he can literally match times with the best here.

Assuming noone has scooped you up, fndr, I'd be more than happy to have you run under the Spanky's Speedshop Banner.  We could work out payment depending on results of course.   ;)

Current Roster:
-Fit4aking: Primary Driver, GS
-Spanky: Secondary Driver, ZR1 or Stingray
-Open: Will draw straws with Spanky for the keys to car of thier choice.
Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Smokey's Garage checking in.....

Detrick - ZR-1
Red (crew chief and tuner but he's been itching to drive so here's his chance) - Stingray
Trash (founder of the Hot Rod Hillbilly Racing Team) - GS

Need to go prep some cars.....

Detrick (heard walking away from the computer and to the back of the shop) - "Red, get outta the crapper and get yur ass over here.  Time to put Smokey's Garage back on the map."

"...and Detrick is a weenie who can't handle real racing..." - fndrbndr

"My better is better than your better."

Dirt, by "interviews," he means we ran the same time, down to thousandths of a second, on road america for a best-lap time, and were only a few hundredths separated in total time at 10 laps, one of the best racing sessions I've been part of in a while, even though there were never more than four or five people there.  I almost wish I hadn't shaved a tenth the next race (Qmole joined), just for the coolness of literally tying another Muscle, Inc. driver on the hotlap board. lol

Edit:  Fit, I'd be happy to run with Spanky's for this challenge.  I'll take whichever car.

So how does this thing work.  I mean, we got the whole shop bustin' ass to get all the D Muscle Inc cars finished up and I am sort of at loose ends.  If I was to get the job, do I supply the car and the build, or do I drive a car built by you?

If you take on the OSS job you just build and tune the thing anyway you want...we ain't all that sophisticated...except when it comes to movies...anyways...your car, your tune, your build...you just post your time as a member of my team...

And we would be honored to have you...
