Yeah, but now that I know that, Ikeep overdriving it.  Since I ran that lap, my best is a 93.6xx.  lol

Doc:  Not half bad, man.  Second.  Nice job.

Fndr:  I just couldn't catch that civic.

Doc:  You had the fastest lap of the whole race, man.

Fndr:  Yeah, if the other ones had been as fast, I'd have made it close.

Doc:  Think about what we did, man.  A few months ago, that was a beat up old frame in your uncle's basement.  Now, it's a racer, and a halfway decent one.  You beat that new Z, and that Porsche.  You made more in a day here than you made last year.  You do that a few more times, and we could start a race company.  Strip 'em out, put good tires on 'em, and drive like that, and you could get a few people's attention.  And hey, that way, the lack of horsepower won't kill ya.

Fndr:  Yeah, guess you're right.  On the way home, you wanna setup a shingle outside that shack?

Doc:  No need for that.  Still, the money would be enough to start another car or two.  We could put together a garage, really.

Fndr:  If you'll let me keep using the space, I'd be up for it.

(So that's it.  Doc and Fndr decided to work together from here on.  Dunno where this is headed, but it should be fun.)

Plain english writeup:

Ran about a 1:33.3xx during the enduro, and came in 2nd.  Bimmer was right on my tail most of the day, and Snyder pretty much ran off and left us, beating me by about 20 seconds.  Snyder and I both set new hotlap times, and others may have as well.  I ran the whole race in 40:03 (or :02, something like that).  In addition to having a total blast, I learned another truth of racing, imprtant both online and in the real world.  I came in as well as I did because I didn't have any serious mistakes.  That's a function of the seat time I spent in the car, because it's not exactly forgiving.  In fact, to be competitive, you have to drive it like a madman.  At the 12th lap, I was already showing wear on the left front.  I missed a turn, lost about 15 mph heading into the straights and the eye of the needle, and figured since that lap was "lost," I might as well go ahead and pit.  I'm curious as to how different my car was from, say, Bimmer's.  There were only a few seconds between us over 25 laps, so that battle really could have gone either way.  This kind of makes me curious as to whether I could do as well with Bimmer's car, or vice versa.  Anyway, back on topic, it was a lot of fun to build this, and while the story got a little too big at times and I dropped a few things for brevity's sake, it was fun to write that as well.

The strange thing is how fast that thing ate tires and drank fuel!

Well, I had to keep it in about a 1500-rpm range, or it was useless.  You saw when it (didn't) do off the line.  lol

I got lucky in that i was seeded 2nd, so i didn't waste time getting around people, like what happened in some of the practices.  I was actually gunna use the rx-7, but i got bimmer's request in the middle of my painting of the car.  If you noticed on my first practice run, only the right side was painted.  So i switched to the Civic as it was already race prepped and ready.

In a race that length consistancy is key.  I spent most of my lap times in the 1:33.7xx range, with my slower times coming in 1:34.3xx region.  I had a couple 95 laps, but that's to be expected.  And a couple dips into the low 93's.

Update:  this makes a decent flowing car in A class, too, just using the Supra swap instead of the middle option from this build.  I'm still struggling with turbo lag, though, and may see whether there's a NA option if I just add enough ponies.
