Fndrbndr's Custom Showcase
« on: February 04, 2008, 08:40:23 PM »
This is the Miata I posted in the cars board.  This is my "tiny terror," which has been known to chase down the MK2's on occasion.  I can honestly say that this was my first "project" car, and one of the first cars I was truly proud of.  I think it showed in my livery.

This is my B-class Opel.  It's definitely a work in progress, but thanks to whoever gave me the tip about creating custom vinyls.

Well, the Opel's being put on the back burner for the time being.  My current project is in the "about the cars section."  I'm going to try to write a decent story to go along this time.

Glad you like the paintjobs, though.

I have a C-class 2000GT so I'll have to see which path you choose with yours and try to keep up.  I really like that car BTW.  It has served me well even though I can't catch Hoplee in his.  Mine is a really good flowing track build.

At the risk of giving away the plot, it becomes a B-classer, still trying to fill the void that the Opel missed.  I had to set the suspension components stiffer than they originally were, and thanks the folks here, I knew that was the problem and figured out how to make it happen.  So if this works, there are definitely some more atta-boy's in order.  It outperformed the Opel by about 3/10ths on Maple Valley Short, which is about a 40-second lap.  Well, I've said too much...

The GT sounds like a nice project, I'm looking forward to seeing that one.

I like how your Tiny Terror rides have the matching colours. Is this something we're likely to see on your future projects?

Well, there's definitely a theme there.  It started with an inside joke with my uncle, who drives a Miata IRL.  We used to take our convertibles up to the mountains on the weekend and hit the twisties, back in my yuppie-who-lives-in-the-real-South days.  I used to kid him about just taking his car inside if he couldn't find a parking space, needing to tune it up because a full tank of gas could throw off the weight distribution, etc etc etc.  But yes, I think the small two-seaters will have that "signature" paint scheme.  No clue yet on whether I'll do something similar for my Muscle, Inc. cars, Spanky's Superstock, etc.  I would love to get a cert. sticker for the D-class muscles, though.  hehe.

I haven't written up the storyline for it, but I sent the 2000GT through the paint booth today for the Tiny Terror livery.  I'll post some other stuff later, but I think this is all my tiny terrors.  I couldn't bear to put anything on the Series 1; it was too beautiful on its own.

You know, I like the way you have those letters centered right in the middle of the door and dead center on the back...what a remarkable aiming point! Just right for target fixation. Very nice.
