Bad dog.. put the paint brush down!
« on: January 28, 2008, 03:26:56 AM »
A sampling of some of my attempts to put designs on my cars.  Some are attempts at replicas (well, not complete replicas as I didn't reproduce the sponsor decals, just the overall scheme) , others are just my spin on schemes that I liked.

M3 E36 with a simple scheme, loosely based on a couple of different 2007 Nextel Cup designs.

NOS inspired 350Z

An M&M car that my daughter wanted painted, but it was fun because it gave me a chance to play with shading

I did the whole FedEx series from the 2008 sprint cup schemes, but here are two of them

An attempt at some more detailed flames..

And, of course, can't be from Nebraska and not have a Husker themed car.  This was my first attempt at a livery

Thanks, guys.  I should have mentioned this, but kinda figured it goes without saying, given the open contributions around here, but you're welcome to anything that I have, just let me know. :).

Hey Blooze,

It's on the 2002 Mugen Integra Type-R, but if you don't have one, let me know and I can either gift it to you or put it on something else ( I created custom vinyls out of the major pieces so putting it on another body won't be a big issue..  The only thing that takes a little more time is lining up the ones that span the front panels and the hood, but even that is minimal and I'd be happy to do it for you).

Let me know

Randy

Those flames are wicked and my gf would love the M&M car.  I'm inspired by all you guys to try my hand at painting.  The big question is how will I create the time to do it...

TJN,

You are more than welcome to any of these, just send me a car and I'll lay them down for you.  The flames are on the 2005 WRX STI.  Below is a link to the Nextel Cub car that I saw this on, but mine is nowhere near as real looking as this

OK...so this would be a major time saver for yours truly....how do you create a custom vinyl?

Fndr...

You click the left thumb stick to highlight a group of shapes, letters, whatever...they are outlined in orange and linked. Then you select one of the linked objects. The menu pops up and you select save as vinyl group.

Actually, you click and hold the left thumbstick and press A to link the vinyls together. Also, you can use the menu to highlight the entire side and then save as vinyl group.
