The fastest time on the Ring for a 2000GT is currently 8:00.327 (Rank 15 gamertag GT RB26). The 2000GT has unbelievable top end for the amount of power you put in it, and this turns into a big advantage on the Ring. Frankly, I'm not sure that the 911 can catch it!

I'm gonna go have a go at Tsukuba...

Well I just turned in a 59.404 - good for (wait for it...) 5002.  Looks like I've got some work to do.

Oh, I'm using ye olde 911

Just knocked the time down to a 59.143 in the '73 RS.

The cutoff for getting top-500 is a 58.074 or lower.  So I have to shave over a second off the time.  Interesting.

The time is coming down.  Slowly.  I've broken into the 58's with a 58.937, still in the '73 RS

Just took some more time off, giving me a 58.871, which puts me at #1970

Is anyone else tryin' to crack into the top 500 here or just me?

Ok, just took even more time off, now a 58.632, good for 1345th... I can do this... I think...

Well, I'm stopping this for the night.  With the 58.832, I'm placed at #1332, and I need to shed another 0.765 seconds off my lap to catch the current 500th place person.

The Tsukuba B-Class Leaderboard seems asolutely swamped (and completely dominated by) Mugen Integras, Elise 135Rs, and Peugeot 206 RCs.  I'd love to see some classics break the top 500, and I think they can.  I'm pretty confident that the '73 Carrera could hit that mark in the hands of a better driver easily, and I think I can hit that mark, but it'll take a good bit of work.

I did, however, just place 141st on Diamondback Reverse in the '73 RS.

The best time I can remember running on tsukuba is a 58.250 in either my 914 or my Dino, I'll have to check.

EDIT The fastest time recorded by me so far is a 914 with a 58.377.

Wait - can I run slicks?  I've been ass-u-me-ing that I can only run DOTs...

My goal is to build cars that will compete with the big dogs, not just each other. I have threatened to restrict tires for FCT cars, but only if I start seeing 'missile car' builds with 600 horses and stock rubber.

Short Version: Use slicks or DOTs

I did it!  Yay!

I just managed a 57.976, which has my 914/6 sitting pretty at #453

common mistake, no problem; the name's bimmer lover e39, but all smashed together, so it'd be the same as my name here (I do try to make things easy lol)

If you guys want, I'll post up the setup (should it be in a new thread?)

The E-Type, 300SL and 2000GT all run well on the oval (albeit resorting to a missile car build).

I recently built a B699 E-Type specifically for the oval using a (quite poorly) adapted tune meant for the GT40, and have got her down to 47.5s.

Food for thought for those keen on the oval (personally I can't stand the track).

bimmer, you just got handed the beat down by an Elan!

Rank # 171 Tsukuba  ManeTeloittaja  1972 Elan   57.415

Looks like someone ran it just last night. Also looks like the Elan is a force to be reckoned with!
