I strive for simple elegance in my designs. I tend to agonize over basic details and am happiest when a car looks 'clean'. The end result is that my hours of work look usually like they took 5 minutes! (g) I'll upload some examples.

Check out this link for some inspiration if you like. It's full of old drag racing liveries for Muscle Cars. The lettering and stripes are fantastic!

Hop, ole buddy...you can't link to the photos on the FM.net site...you have to download them to your computer, upload them to a place like photobucket, and then link to them.

I just saw it too bad no photo's at work or it would have been much better.  Guess I'd better get crackin at my GNX so I can move on to one of those.  I wish all my searching would have turned up that page.
Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

more old drag racing pics. I've been scouring the intertubes for a goodun of the KingFish Barracuda. I found one here, but it's black and white. The real car is/was blue and white. I'll keep looking...

one of the points I agonized over was on the ZR-1. Where the black vinyl comes down over the side, following the B Pillar over around the door handle, the seam of the door doesn't follow the B-Pillar, meaning I had to compromise on how clean it was going to look. Black makes this easier.

I'm pleased with the way a wide stripe looks on the front of the 2000GT. It balances the somewhat odd shape of the headlight cutouts nicely.

I like the GTO. I'm a sucker for the fades. The Vette is nice and clean, good classic style. But I think that the best is the Cuda. I love the old style race paint. I think its funny that the only other 60's NASCAR stocker has no rear wing for it, Chevelle. Everything else is a Trans Am or drag car.

Hmm. I think I need to do some internet searches for some old TA pics. Maybe a Penske, or Bud Moore.

Auto Racing, Bull Fighting, and Mountain Climbing.
Everything else are children's games that men play

thank you! The cuda is the latest creation and was done to commemorate the first FM2.net hotlap challenge. The only way for an A Class Cuda to make weight was to put the Elephant in it. Ironic that I had to add power to a muscle car to be eligible for their restrictions mublegrumble.

Anyhoo, the areas behind the quarter-windows turned out nicely with a long taper onto the trunk. That area of the body is tricky to work with! thanks again for the feedback :)

PS the only performance item I had room for was a pair of street flowmasters, hence the theme!

More old funny car pics, found one of the versions of the KingFish in color, but its got the big rear window (probably the largest piece of automotive glass ever at the time). I KNOW that I've seen a KingFish with the smaller rearr window somewhere...

I stayed up late last night and got the NISSAN project into presentable shape. I owe a big !THANK YOU! to Tonka Crash for the decal work. He provided the NISSAN, goodyear and IMSA logo (which I added to to create the IMSA GTP logo on the side.) There's a lot of optical illusion going on on the top side of the car and I'm happy with how most of it turned out.

Now, for the unveiling, my tribute to the GTP ZX-T!

Wow Hop, that's one helluva job there!  I love it!
It is highly likely that the above post was produced with a drippy jowl.
