interesting, i was going to categories by only 2 types - fast n light, heavy n powerful... seems like an adjustment might be in order :)

run QR on classes D n C,
D class, overall winner the was charger ... but only by its advantage at sebring
poorest performers, 432 and Elan
the big surprise for me was the Boss, came in second and was great to drive out the box!
(a couple more laps, and it will easily overtake the charger... let alone some 'adjustments')

C class, overall winner.... no surprise, the dino! even on stock setup, its just gr8!
poorest performer, Chevelle... ok, this is not the car, its me... i cant keep it on track, im gonna need a serious grip tune on this otherwise its off to the AH for it!!!
surprise, the Z28 lots of promise there

id not played with the USofA contingent much, but they really have been alot better than i was expecting
... and only the charger and chevelle have been the muscle experience i was expecting!

whats been gr8 is being able to compare side by side everything, as ive done this its been glaringly obvious where each strengths and weaknesses are... should really help me decide which is type 1-4! ... its also been  fun trying to drive a charger after hopping out of an elan ;)

anyway B class next... lots of competition there, and no obvious winner ... and to spice it up, since the class is a little full, one lucky car will get promoted to A, and one sore looser might get relegated to C :)

Most of my cars are either type 1 or type 4.  I have a couple type 2 and 3 sprinkled throughout the classes, but the type 4 cars are my garage basically.

thxs blooze, still sorting things out - but things in the right direction  now -
in new house, now have a 'games' room, with dedicated TV and 'racing chair' which makes things alot more comfy, and means i can start playing again now i dont have to take over the lounge!

anyways, first result is ive now finished my initial QR on my new garage!!!

B class results, top of the pile was the Nissan 432R (odd since the 432, in D class was disaster!) , the followed up by the Audi Quattro with the ZR1 hot on its heals,
Quattro probably my favourite drive - and the ZR1 the big surprise for me. The looser of the (heavily contested) bunch were the two porsche 911 rs and 914/6, i obviously need to rethink my porsche tuning ideas!

A class results, really fun set of cars to drive, the Esprit the comes out on top!!! dont know how, since the Lambo always looked like it was going to get top spot- think it was just down to consistency. The Firebird was a very nice surprise, and looks like it could mount a challenge, and finally I had a porsche that was feeling good to drive!  Bottom of the pile was the Camaro, had real issues with this, its gonna need some TLC if its going to make the grade.

So overall, it meant the US, Asia, UK and Italians have a class winner, just the germans who needs to pull their socks up :)

Now the real fun begins, I now have a baseline for all the cars, so now I go through each in turn.

Im going to now take the most 'promising' of each class and tune it (all my base times are on std tune) , after than the top of class gets a chance, then all others in turn.

i think the rules for my game are simple, after a tune it must
- beat its own time on every track
- take one best (of my) class times for a track,
- become best QR for class (i think!)

oh, and Im also figuring out paint jobs, to highlight the winners - the cars get to earn their strips :)

think they will be mainly grip builds, but will try to get some combo of light nippy mongoose cars, flowing cars with a turn of speed.

I have recently finished the car collection achievement so I'm starting the purge to do something similar to my garage. At the moment my plan is to have all of the cars eligible for each series spec found on this site (although that would mean 4 or 5 versions of each of the classic muscles) with a few of my favourites thrown in for good measure.

I've not tried the 432R or the Quattro yet but I'm with you on the ZR-1. I built one up to the original M-Inc specs for the Muscle Mongoose challenge and it's turned into my favourite B-Class car online (on any track, not just the snakes).

Looking through the table you posted earlier I noticed your 914/6 is pretty light, have you tried dropping the WR in favour of some go faster parts? I have one in D-Class running with no weight reduction and it is light enough as is. That being said, my efforts to get a 914/6 competitive in C-Class have been pretty unsuccessful so maybe taking it out of D is taking it out of its comfort zone.
