OS Tuned SEAT Leon Cupra R
Orders for this car are being taken at fm.net in the tuning section of the auction house forum.  I'm thinking of ending production with completion of the next batch, which should be sometime tonight or tomorrow.

Vault Subaru Legacy 2.0 GT
I'm running this one in the Legacy XCup over at teamisra.com.  Get to it!

rotaryresurrection.com Mazda RX-7 FC
The rotaries really need to be redone, more to the style of the SpeedSource cars.

Finally got something a little more recent to add.

This is the ALS winner at Silverstone.

Changed the main logo from Wilwood to MInc.

And here's a closer view of that ALS logo I was talking about DD.

I've since revised my SEAT Leon and wanted to share it.  My posts in here are looking a bit lonely..

I'm bored, and wanted to put this somewhere here.  I'd be curious to see what you all think of it.  This is a test to see if I could create a car of my own but keep the polycount fairly low and still get a detailed vehicle out of it.  Think it worked?

This next one just looks like it'd be fun to ride on.  I'd been meaning to do something similar as a throwback to Jet Moto back on the PS1, and then the movie 'The Island' came out and had something similar in it.  I decided to go through with it, but left it to work on that car and never returned..  I've got an updated version on a disc somewhere around my place, but it isn't finished either.  I think I may get back into 3d, I was watching the video documentaries on the upcoming Halo and it was inspiring..

I love the Vault Legacy dude! That's pretty sweet. I liked the old SEAT better, more color is better in my book!

Thanks, the Vault logo could use some more work, but like a lot of things I start, I got bored and stopped before it was totally finished.  It just needs to be cleaned up and I need to outline the entire thing with grey and it'd be better.

I share your sentiments about the more color, but thought the black and white with red rims made it look a little meaner.  I may go back and do a different color scheme just to lighten it up.  I wanted to make it look as mean as it really is, that thing's on rails and upsets a lot of Peugeot drivers.

The models are nicely done. I specialize in solid modeling which is mostly used for manufacturing. It's nice to see products from 'the other half' of modeling software, surface modeling.

What program are you using? The last time I messed around with it, I was using Alias

It's funny how the capabilities and limitations of surface modeling have dictated car styling for the past several years. Everything turned into a sea of gentle creases. Working with clay encourages an entirely different type of form.

I'm also using Alias|Wavefront's Maya... if that's what you're pointing at.

I'm not sure I completely understand what you're saying about the limitations of surface modeling??

I do appreciate clay much more having worked with it a few times.  I'm by no means even close to being decent at it, I just don't have the patience to work with it.  I've been meaning to make myself do more clay work, I've still got a couple of unopened boxes laying around somewhere.  I'd really like to get enough to do a sculpture of a car with it, but that stuff is expensive to get that much together.  Man, thanks for re-igniting that goal.  I think I may see if I can find a store nearby that sells some clay and give it a whirl.  You'll probably never hear anything of it again, but if I stay with this, I'll post some pics.

Come to think of it, that'd be perfect.  I'm looking to learn how to fiberglass, and this would be a pretty decent exercise in pre-production of a body kit/spoiler for the Seven.   :o

the best way to lay fiberglass for a one off is to build a positive out of some good closed cell polyurethane. Lay the glass over the top and cut the foam out from underneath when the glass is done.

To conserve clay, plan carefully and use as big a wooden buck as you can. Working with clay is a royal pain, but there's definitely something magic about it. It feels 'alive' in a way. It is expensive for the good stuff and you have to have good storage.

LOL, the first time I worked with Maya I had to get a security clearance to use the most powerful computer on campus. ::)

LoL no shit?!?

My computer is all right, but I can tell I need to update my graphics card now.  Its a bit out-dated.

I think I'm going to start working on a scale model of my RX7 and then see if I can create a spoiler for it.  The thing is missing the original, just want something close to stock.

I love the shape of the RX7. I would love one without any seams at all. You'd have to have a lift off body, but that form is priceless. Reminds me of a 356 somehow.

As in the Porsche?

I don't see that, but I will agree it's really good looking.
It is highly likely that the above post was produced with a drippy jowl.
