Level 150
« on: January 14, 2012, 06:23:27 PM »
Cleared level 150 today. Celebrating with a $23 bottle of Reisling and a bag of hot and spicey pork rinds.

DD

PS, made it through the registration chaos. On to first week of classes chaos, followed by the firing of a VP chaos. Gonna need more wine.

Dirt,

I gotta hand it to you, you're a classy dude.  Not many people know that Reisling goes best with the spicy pork rinds.   ;D

Congrats on level 150, and hope all goes well with your teaching.

Thanks, Chuck. I was saving the Reisling for my truffle oil infused corn dogs (a local delicacy) but last week I caught Flathead using the truffle oil to wash parts.

We had a talk.

LOL, It really is my fault. I was keeping it in an old STP can to hide it.

Heh, now there is a thought.  I wonder if it is possible to ever get all of the STP out of one of those cans.  That STP is some tenacious gooey stuff...

More of a Sam Adams guy, myself, but congrats DD.  Glad to know you're still breathing.

So at this point, I know three Riesling drinkers.  You and my wife are both good folks.  Her crazy friend...well...two out of three ain't bad. lol

There's a local winery that makes a good riesling.  So make that three out of four.  Or maybe two out of four.   ;D

Congrats on the level 150, Dirt!  I'm in awe.  I'm wallowing down around 60-ish, I think?

I know, right? Hit level 90 today and felt like Frazier must have after bout #1. I've got a lot of racing to do.

FWIW, I got to 150 in a large part by running tons of Rivals challenges.  It also helped my level up for free parts, and gave me a huge bankroll.

Besides all that, it's been a blast in general.  It's a kick to go up against you guys in the OSS.

Also, you can wind up with some interesting matchups against others.  I forget what challenge it was, but the other day I was running one on Tzukuba, and wound up against a Dart.  This guy was all over the place, sliding, drifting, etc., but on the straight he would just blow by me.  It took me a while, but I was determined to beat the guy (it became a matter of pride and principle; running that glitched monster on that track).

When I finally did (it took me a couple dozen laps), I was taking a bow, thanking the crowd, etc. :o

I guess you had to be there.   :D

I haven't done enough with the Rivals mode, Chuck. I know Blooze has been cashing in there. I think he hit 150 weeks ago.

I finished it off by switching to the R classes during my hiatus. I set up long races to climb the learning curve. Next thing you know I was within four levels.

Not quite... but almost.  I'm in the high 130's right now so it won't be long.  I did hit the 150 and Pontiac 50 with the Cheeze account back in the first part of December.  I got credits comin' out of just about any orfice you want to mention, and a couple you don't.  Most of my running has been in C Class World Championship which happens to pay DL Bonus + 50%.   I was able to clear some levels in just 3 races.

I keep thinking I should fire up the alter-ego account now that DD is at the level max. But you gotta move game saves and move profiles off the other xbox and...oh bother...
