Saw that, very cool.  I like the looks of the Veloster quite a bit.

I been lustin' after that Veloster since the first time I seen it on the TV.

Another cool deal is that with the Time Trial Rival event, I was able to level Hyundai up so that I didn't have to buy the 20,000 worth of parts it takes for a Fugger C Class build.  You did register, didn't you?  The first 1000 move up to the next event.  I'm number 17 right now, but there's only been a 111 guys try it so far.

I like this whole Hyundai program, last season as well.  It appears that they like us - they sure are spending the money with Turn 10 to get their products up front for us to use.  I got all warm and fuzzy feelin' about it and run right out and bought every Hyundai they had - all 7 of them.  I guess I'll be driving Hyundais for a while.  You can hit every class up to R1 with them.

I'm off to drive my new Veloster.  (what is a Veloster anyways?  Some kind of dinasour it sounds like...)

I must admit that this one had completely passed me by - guess I need to check it out when I get on tonight.

Now what gets me is the name - Veloster. It's not that it's a bad name - I can see exactly where they're coming from with the "Velo" bit of it (speed), but for some reason I was expecting a people carrier (minivan to those of you in the States) until I saw reference to it as a coupe.

I can see why Hyundai (and indeed other manufacturers) are keen to get their cars in games too - it's essentially free (or cheap) advertising, certainly cheaper than a worldwide marketing campaign big enough to reach 4 million or so people. Not only that, it's very well targetted advertising as almost by definition it's the car lovers who buy games like Forza - I'd guess you'd need to have probably ten times as many pairs of eyes seeing your adverts as you would gamers for the same effect.

Seems a bit of a gimmik to me, why not just make a 5 door and a 3 door?

Yeppers... there's a series of events that will run in February that will eventually wind down to somebody getting a Real Veloster (I want to put an "i" between the "s" and "t" real bad - left up to me it would have been speelt "Velositor".)  Anyway, ya got to be in the top 1000 of this month's festivities to get to play in February.

It was posted up a couple weeks ago - I guess I should have posted something here.  I thought everybody had seen it...  my bad... 

I haven't been in that Autovista thingy at all.  I guess I need to go check it out.

Canadians are also excluded from the Time Trial competition. Colour me unimpressed.

I took a real Veloster for a test drive late last year. But it was a plain-jane model(the Turbo model is not out in the wild as yet). The Veloster has a surprisingly low-profile for the type of car it is. I like the rear of the car and the interior is modestly slick. But the face of the car is an acquired taste.

In fact, I'd place the Veloster in the butter-face category of cars.

Definitely a gimmick.

The market-speak is the driver of the vehicle will always perceive he/she is climbing into a kinda-sorta-FWD-coupe. While passengers will perceive the functionality/practicality of a compact sedan with the additional rear door.

Give Hyundai credit for showing-up Toyota and Honda with their beige, uninspired, wedges of the future. They're trying to keep things fresh.

VIP cars are sent (gifted) to you.  You don't have to go get them.

The Hyundai pack is a freebie for everyone reguardless of their VIP-ish-ness...

The only other VIP car I am aware of is the Christmas Integra Unicorn.  Did you get that?
