Here is the challenge - completely unassociated with anything. Build the optimal drag car out of the Pinto. Optimal means just the right amount of power to hook the tires and go fast in the quarter-mile.

No Rules...just speed. Track is Sedona.

Looks like 10.600 is the neighborhood. I hit 10.584 and Bimmer hit 10.600 flat. That was around 500 hp. I did learn that 800 hp is slower :)

Dirt's 10.584 was in a naturally aspirated Mustang swapped Pinto (body).  My 10.6 was in a centrifugally supercharged Focus-powered Pinto.  We were within 5hp of each other, but I was lighter and he had more torque.
It is highly likely that the above post was produced with a drippy jowl.

Wouldn't it have been funny if that dude from Fast and Furious said "you owe me a ten second car" and the other dude gave him a Pinto! I would have laughed and laughed and laughed.

Alright. I will assume no interest in this one beyond me and bimmer...no need for a challenge. :)

I put up a time, I just hadn't had time to post about it. I went AWD and put nearly a full second on y'all so... I may have broken your challenge.

Hehe. Yeah as of right now the only thing I'm competitive in with the wheel is drag racing lol. I'm getting better slowly though, so soon I will be ready for some real racing with it.
