So this Rivalry Challenge pops up from Turn 10 and asks me to take a spin around Infineon NASCAR in a 50's vintage racer. I don't have any of them open cockpit, strange-gearbox ratio cars so I borrowed one of the examples already at the track. Ran an okay lap and put it away. It was pretty fun.
Last night I get another Rivalry Challenge that good ole Pistol Pig has beaten my time. I'm all for a challenge so I set off to beat him. I didn't look at anything but the memo which shows his car choice and his lap time. Straight to the garage I go to pick my weapon. I don't own any of these cars but I know Dirty Warbucks stashed a few in the Club Garage so I borrowed a 250 TR that was at the top of C-class and set off to start the race.
PP was flat out FLYING around the track. Smoke was literally pouring off of the wheels of the back of his car the entire time. I thought if I could make a nice smooth lap without a ton of wheel spin I could beat him. Easier said than done.
It took an hour. A whole hour. Two breaks to keep from throwing the controller when a "traffic" car would nudge me and decert a lap, or when I blew a turn and watched his ghost fly past. Either way it took an entire hour to finally just ever so slightly beat Pistol Pig and his Maserati.
I relaxed in my racing chair and damn near fell over when the leaderboard screen popped up and I saw this:

I was literally jumping up and down in the middle of my living room last night when I went almost to the tippy top of my friends/club leaderboard in a car FROM THE WRONG CLASS!
I'm sure it won't last long as there are plenty more people that will knock that time to shreds but top 1000 in a C-class....what a feeling!
