B class Corvette GS
« on: October 12, 2007, 03:06:47 PM »
Although this car doesn't fit into any category here, I do think it conforms to the spirit here. Currently I am working a this Corvette GS and turning into a very accurate replica of the 1985 SCCA Showroom Stock Corvettes. The history behind this era of racing is just wonderful when you get into it, so I decided to make a car to do it justice in Forza. This is the livery I will be going for with it:

The cars originally had about 350 hp, and this one is 346. Tires are sport compound, with similar levels of grip to the period race compound Gatorbacks used on the cars. Anyway, the car is being tested on Road Atlanta, and I wouldn't mind any suggestions for it.

You are definitely in the right place on this one! Cool project.

If you want to post you build specs I will build one out and work with it. We can compare notes.

I'll post the setup after I get some lunch. Currently, it is sitting with an untested setup V1.1. I changed the camber slightly and began to set up a 5 speed transmission. This is what I can recall so far:
1st weight reduction
Pirelli? Tires (first tire upgrade)
5th gear is set for 154mph at 6300rpms
Sway bars are 10/12
Camber is 1.1/0.8
Caster 5.5
Diff: 60%/50%
Brake Bias: 53% or 54%

I'll post the whole thing soon.

Great...this is a popular car around here...over the next week we might see a few of the guys join in. In fact, I am due to host a challenge next week and I like working on this for Road Atlanta better than what I had originally planned. You mind if we make it a tuning Challenge?

Where are you, anyway? I had lunch 3 and a half hours ago...LOL

A tuning challenge sounds great!

I'm on the East Coast, but I work second shift and had a hard time sleeping last night (went to bed at 5am). I got up at 2pm so this is a combo breakfast/lunch.
