The Jim-Bobs of the world are getting a pretty good wakeup call lately however.  The number of outfits that are producing OEM parts is growing pretty fast.  It's getting such that dealing with a rusted out junker is too much trouble, specially when the clown wants too much for his chunk of "original ir'n".

Off to a slow start today...  I seem to be gettin' heavy in to the sleepin' lately.  And then I've been spending quite a bit of time working on catching my spreadsheets up after the fiasco.  I need to be a bit more frequent with my backups it appears.

But even worse than restoring the missing spreadsheets is restoring the missing times.  I am faced with running the same cars thu the WC season for a second time.  That is the one that hurts.  I could run them thru the leaderboard - that would save some time, but I am more of less committed to recording times from the races only.

Best I have been able to come up with so far is alternate - new car/old car.  And, only run the old cars thru one heat unless there is a massive f*up.

I topped out the Drivers Level - again.  That's twice in a little more than 3 months.  Along with that I have amassed around 12 million Affinity Xp points.  That is enough for 4 level 50's even tho I've only run one out to the top (Pontiac in the Cheeze account).

Even tho I was somewhat prepared for it this time, I'm still somewhat taken aback by the drastic change in income once the Drivers Level is maxed out.  I started tracking the winnings vs winnings + bonii.  For the last few weeks it was running at about 450%.  Now it's around 165%, depending on where you're at with the race car's affinity.  Things get plumb-assed sparse around level 19 until level 25.

So now, racing wise - my project is total Affinity.  That is one number that appears to persist - for a while at least.  It depends on how many cars you race after having hit level 50.  Racing only the WC events, leveling up is really not all that hard.  For instance, one pass through the B class WC will generate 394,000 Affinity points.  With only 2,642,500 required to hit level 50, you can hit it with 6 or 7 B class seasons.  Getting the Hyundai to level 27 only took 4 seasons - F, D, C, and B.

Tearing down the GICheeze account means moving all the D and C class FSRA stuff is moving to the Blooze account.  That coupled with my Hot Hatch and FTCC plans in C and B classes it appears I could spend about a year getting all the cars planned, built and run.  I trimmed the Muscle car herd somewhat by limiting the number of Mopar cars - most of them don't interest me anyways.

Now that I am sitting on 91 Million credits with no place to spend it, I sort of wish I hadn't tokenized so many cars at start up.  The Token cars really have no value other than appearing in your garage and inflating its value.  You can't sell them or give them away.  Maybe one of my projects will become replacing Token bought cars with Credit bought cars...

As soon as I'm sure I've collected all the goodies - toons, designs, and vinyls and such - from the 'Cheeze profile, I plan on deleting the save and starting over - Choose some different cars and make some more level-up money - send it all the Blooze account...

I feel like a soup and sam'ich lunch today... guess I best get to it.  Just thinkin'  "I want a sam'ich" doesn't seem to get it done.

The repopped parts are now making those rusting away hulks of iron able to be restored.  You have to start with something so you have a VIN.  With the industry making all kinds of stuff now, cars that were too far gone even 5 years ago are worth restoring now, especially the super rare stuff.  Those Hemi Cuda convertibles and the like.  And the Jim Bobs of the world own some of those cars . . .

Blooze I think we have a race.  I saw that your silver Challenger was ahead of my red one around Laguna.  I couldn't let that stand. Mwuahahahaha.  After about 6 laps I was able to just barely creep ahead coming out of the last turn so I capped it at just a tenth faster than you.  I like getting 180,000cr's for such a short race so no need to go all gang-busters and try to really hammer out a perfect lap.  Just enough to leapfrog along and scoop up a horde of credits.

Man I do love rivals mode.
Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Heh, since rebstarting my Cheeze account, 70% of the credits I've won has come from racing that Charger.  But I am afraid it has come to an end.  At least for today.  My time on the track was a x.147 and the first one in a string of 147's.  So I figured I'd start out this morning racing the last in a long string of 146's.  I figured, "What the hay!  He couldn't be more than a few 10,000ths ahead of me... no sweat."

Of course, that assumes that I could reproduce the 147 - which I couldn't.  I don't know how many laps I ran - I took 2 breaks.  But no dice.  I couldn't get any closer than a couple 10ths.  Finally I had to give it up.  It just ain't a quick day for me, I guess.

Maybe on another day when I'm knockin' 'em dead, I'll take another shot at it.

I'm back to runnin' my '65 GTO again.   Running it in D Class and having me a Walter Mitty fun time thinking about the various aspects of running a 1965 Muscle car all over the world.  'Specially in D Class, which makes it almost stock.  I've run Kaido and the 'Ring a couple of times with all the urgency of Sunday sight seein' tour.  It's fun.  I wish we still had Positano - that would be fun to putter around also.

I am, however, putting in a serious racing effort when it comes to the WC season.  So far I've been able to pick off a few Personal Bests and keep the damage to a minimum on the tracks where the TBird is just too much for the GTO.  Grip, more - the lack of it - is the biggest issue.  The TBird and the '60 'Vette both have fairly low starting Pi values so they can be equipped a little better.

I really am enamoured with all the old cars this time around.

I went home for lunch today and fired up Netflix.  One of the programs it was recommending for me was "American Muscle Cars" so I watched the first episode which was on the Pontiac GTO!  Pretty good stuff.  I don't really know much about the history of muscle cars so I'm looking forward to watching the whole series.  Looks like it ran for three years so there are quite a few episodes.  After watching that first episode I think I''ll have to build and run a GTO over the next few days.

That sounds interesting - I'm gonna have to search it up.

As for the Pontiac - have fun with it.  Bing or Google can produce some interesting stuff as well.  The history of the marque is surprising if you haven't paid much attention to engineering development trough the years.   Pontiac spent a great deal during the late '50s and early '60s trying to distance themselves from the perception that Pontiacs were just Grampa's Sunday car, or merely a poor man's Cadillac.

You will enjoy that.  I think there are three seasons of episodes.  I've watched the entire series.  You might even learn something . . .

I went cherry picking on the set of episodes looking at the various titles.  I found what I think will be my favorite, even in front of the 1st one about the '64 GTO - Episode 14.  It is all about the Superduty period of Pontiac development.  Lots 'n' lots of cool history.  Pontiac was a real monster in the early '60s.

I continue with my D Class '65 GTO exercise.  So far, the car has claimed 15 PB times on the RW Tracks.  It is also on a track to eclipse the TBird D WC season record.  Since the build is a Modified Fugger and not very compatible with the up and coming FSRA SS C Class build, I present it here.

I don't have much to compare this to since all of my D Class toons went with my old computer.  Right now the most important item I have seen with this build is the realization that I won't need the R Transmission with the FSRA build.  That should save a few Pi.

After watching episode two on the Judge I now have a 65 GTO and a Judge built out for D class.  I really prefer the 65.  The Judge seems a bit of a slow porker.  Maybe it would feel better at a higher class with less weight?

I don't have the Judge, and most probably will not.  After watching Episodes 1 and 14, and recalling the many things I studied and read back when I was working on my Project, I have determined that I am more of a Bunkie Knudsen and Superduty fan rather than a "GTO" fan.  The '65 GTO was the last decent car from the Superduty era, and was a second choice for my engine (which was built without a car to start - first choice was a Tempest Safari wagon.) and the choice was not made frivolously.  The 66 GTO was heavier and longer than the '65, and the '67 even heavier and longer than the '66.   '68 marked the beginning of the new style period and those cars, not only heavier, also were made up with the same psuedo monoque body as the Camaros and Firebirds.  The '65 GTO had a frame.

The only thing that came out of Pontiac in the late '60s/early '70s that was worth a damn as far as I am concerned was the Ram Air IV engine, particularly the round port heads and manifolds.

Forza wise, the '66 Nova and '67 Chevelle are cars that were at the top of my list back in the day.  The Firebirds and Camaros and such didn't figure in to my wish lists very often (mostly 'cause money held sway over my wish list's content most of the time.)

I suspect that the Judge is only going to fare just a little better than the GTO Hardtop of previous versions...

I've had a Nova built for C class for while now and really like that car.  I haven't messed with the Chevelle yet but based on your comments maybe that will be next.

I've got a Chevelle built for C Class, but it's one of the cars that suffers with the huge PI hit for adding transmission.

I decided to add some tyre and stuck with with the stock tranny but it doesn't even reach 120mph before its bouncing off the limiter. Its strong point though is acceleration, even with the limited top end it held my PB around the full Rd Atlanta track until I set out determined to beat it in the Shelby Stang, even then I only managed it by a tenth or so...

Extra smokey.... now with no assists!

I think we're talking about different Chevelles.  The one I referenced is the 1967 SS-396.  It runs out at about 140 mph on the back of Road Atlanta and doesn't quite redline.  However, I did set a PB with it just now, albeit 2 seconds behind your Cobra Jet time...
