Parts that allow tuning.  The Springs, ARB, Diff, and Trans.

Hitting a Race Trans mission at the St. Stock level seems counter intuitive, but swapping out a rear end with a junk yard is something that would be done.  That's how I got the 3:10 Posi for my GTO, I traded them my 3:55 for it.  They were friends so I dint even have to toss in some boot.

Same goes with the Race suspension, you may not go with all the wizz bang in your new car, but you would be aligning the wheels and maybe changing out the shocks.

That's pretty much it - Forza requires that Race Level parts be installed to get Street Level tuning capabilities.

By this definition, does Mason's D350 Charger over at the Filling Station qualify as SS or ST? No Race Level Tuner parts, but plenty of Sport Level... :-\

Sorry to have been so slow to get back to you, Top.  It has been sort of ruff around here the last week or so, health wise.

One of the things that it appears that I have been seriously remiss in since Opening day of the new Season is the refactoring that the FSRA has gone through, necessitated primarily by actually having the game in hand.

I have looked all over the few things I've posted since the game came out and have been unable to find where I explained the changes to the FSRA since it was first configured back in Sept. and have been unable to find anything - me thinks that I must have been planning posts explaining modifications but just hadn't quite gotten around to actually writing and posting them.  (I think I may have explained them to some length in a phone call with Dirt, but I am a bit sketchy on stuff that has happened in the last week or so.)

The original class affiliations went out the window with changes to the Pi cost of the Race Transmission and the Street Tire Compound, and the fact that many of the new and old muscle cars start out in C Class.  That, along with a basic misunderstanding in how the whole business with the AI's Class Restriction and Opponent Upgrade assist components actually work, has led to the following...

  • The SS class has a 425 Pi limit.  In short, it is a C Class Muscle car.
  • Likewise, the SR is in short, a B class Muscle car.
  • The intermediate ST class is gone.  The TAGE class is on hold.

Now, just as the PUG doesn't tweek to hit a Pi level right on the mark, neither should we, specially if it makes you make a non-realistic choice in order to gain that 425th Pi point.  The idea is to be compatible with the game's interpretation of those two 25% assists.

So now Mason's Charger.  A lot of what will be on it will be choices Mason has made concerning his ride.  Whether it is considered SS or SR will depend on how much smoke he can blow.  Read the little text that accompanies each level of each part.  Does it seem reasonable for a New Grocery Getter?

Some decisions will be game driven as mentioned above in the bit about tunable parts.  I took a quick look at my Charger, and added the following right off the bat.
  • Race Suspension
  • Race f&r ARB
  • Race Transmission
  • Sport Diff
  • Street Tire Compound
  • Widest f&r Tires
  • 16" Cragar SS wheels.

This all put me up fairly close to the top of C, and I would say they are almost default for the class (one may have to give a bit on the tire widths).  The rest of my choices put me right on the money 425.  What are those, and why did you choose them?

Those are the things that will be debated in the parking lot down at the Sonic.

;D

So I'm actually BEHIND the curve in SS, in that regard.  Hmmm...

Mason's got a 440 in the Charger; swapped out the original 318, so it's a clone R/T.  I think that's only fitting for Mason.  ;)  He's gonna have to make a trip to the speed shop over on CR 71, I reckon, since Top's not been over at the filling station for a few days... Anyone seen him?
