Good evening folks.  Sorry this took so long to get to today.  But, I been a busy old fart today.

I spent the good part of the day building out a BTCC spec Volvo C30 and then getting it dialed in.  This is one of those that would take time in the seat, but after having put the time in, it would be a butt kicker - like that R4 Volvo was for me last year.

So, my initial QR on the thing is...
Road Atlanta: 61.854
Sebring Short: 79.692
Tsukuba         59.978

Then I messed with it on the hill some...
NUH: 298.431
NDH: 293.759

I can do better with these but like I said, it's going to take some seat time.  This car has similar troubles that the Citroen has.  It tended to snap straight if one were to get heavy on it in a low gear and a turn, like in on of those switch backs.  So, I went and knocked the Accel locking down to 20% and that seemed to help it quite a bit.  I am going to try it with the Citroen tomorrow...

The reason I want to keep on with the Volvo, and the Citroen too, is that both of them are faster than the SEAT SC, its just that before the ride is over, the SEAT's superior grip wins out.

The Clio is coming on nicely. I've been testing it on Tskuba Full and have managed to get a 59.5xx in it without too much trouble and I'm comfortably getting under 1min quite consistently. I'll do the other QR tracks as well when I get the chance but I was focusing on that one first. After a bit of messing about I've ended up with a centrifugal supercharger. Is that allowed or does it have to be stock aspiration?

The other issue I have is that I've moved house and don't have the internet up and running yet. Will you accept times without the leaderboards to back them up. I assure you I will not BS and I think it's unlikely that I'll get anywhere near Open2nd anyway.

Of course we'll accept the times.  We treat men like men and expect that they will act in accordance.

No, once you have all the Race Equipment aboard, you are free to do what ever with the Pi that is left.

59.5xx is a pretty good time for an FF car on Tsukuba, at least in my book it is.  My Leon SC has a 59.444, but past that it takes AWD to go faster.

Keep up the good work and good luck with getting the move all squared away...

I've not been ignoring this one, just got sidetracked with the design side of things:

http://forza-tuning.net/index.php/topic,1283.11.html

Now, I need to look into tuning the thing :)

I did have a look into the tuning thing. It seems that the Astra does pretty well in terms of grip, but lacks a bit in power. Or at least that's what I'm taking from it being close to Open downhill, but somewhat off the pace uphill. I was quite conservative with the tune as I wanted something I can race once the challenge is over, rather than something which is superfast, but clean one lap in ten. The car feels like it grips well and, to me, seems nicely balanced. It's just looking back I think I might still have the front rebound set a bit high - I took the default value and worked my way down rather than starting at Feuerdog's 8.0 value as usual. I think the 8.6 (IIRC) value might still be a bit high. Still, onto the times:

Grrr!!! The leaderboards still aren't updating properly on .net >:( Guess it's back to the old pencil and paper - I'll put the times up later.

After watching todays broadcast of the DTM and BTCC, I must have been somewhat inspired. My level of suckage improved a bit since my first effort with the Focus. Today, in the Seat Leon SC, I managed an UH=312.296 and DH=307.507 for a total of 619.803. For me, that is a huge accomplishment. I even found myself at LB=218 and 406 respectively. First time above 500 (5000 for that matter). HUGE GRIN!

Built up a '07 Civic to spec, I had to run in hood view since the A-pillar completely blocks your view on right hand corners.   >:(

Pretty fun car regardless

Up: 296.116
Down: 284.283

Total: 580.399

We're getting a pretty good leaderboard going there.  A nice cross section of cars and a bunch of damn good times.  A whole bunch of Hatchback FFs sittin' in the top 500 - great job guys!!!

Finally took a few minutes to set some times in my Alfa Romeo MiTo.  Uphill wasn't at all what I had hoped so I'll need to revisit that and try to improve.  Downhill was crazy to say the least I hate being on edge the entire time but the skinny tires on the Alfa aren't the most confidence inspiring.  Either way I think I set new personal bests for both up and down tonight.  Whew!

Uphill: 304.971
Downhill: 291.692

Once the new fix for My Forza goes in on Sunday I'll upload the paint.  Its by Cooperbh and it fantastic.  I will take zippy credit but can't wait to share it with the class.
Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Thanks for posting the times up Blooze. I couldn't remember if we had to use maximum width tyres, but figured the car would be better on wide tyres than thin ones anyway. Couldn't catch your uphill time (I only had 236bhp and think that was the problem) so was pleased when I made the time up coming downhill - I think that's where the extra grip came in.

I ran these in a "Private Race" against 7 hard AI with collisions off. That meant that I got just over 10,000cr per run which helped pay for the car :)

And barumba, well done! 8) There's always a nice feeling comes from getting further up the leaderboard than you're used to isn't there?

Here are my times for the Clio.

NUH: 293.677
NDH: 285.536
T: 579.213

Road Atlanta: 61.145
Sebring Short: 80.127
Tsukuba: 59.554
T: 200.826

I've not really done that much with the tune yet to be honest; stock gears and aero and I've only used a base tune on the springs. Both my times for the Kaido are my first legit ones although I had quite a few over ambitious attempts at the UH. I know I could definitely shave a reasonable bit off the DH and with a bit more tuning the UH as well. I'll certainly be posting some improved times at some point.

Good opening challenge.
