October 2nd Online Race Thread
« on: September 27, 2007, 10:46:42 AM »
I can designate Tuesday Oct 2nd as a good night for me to host an online series this upcoming week.  Beyond that will have to play by ear.

I think we should try to run 2 or 3 Muscle Inc races and one of each ALS and FCT races.  All in all I am shooing to be on for an hour or so with "scheduled" races and then open it up if anyone wants to try a different car type or track.  You never know we could all be trying out one of Blooze Snake tracks.  IMO majority rules.  I'll post tracks tonight after I go through them and pick a favorite or two.

Please post a reply if you are interested in the idea of a weekly online series, no attendance required.  I don't need a solid commitment from any one person but from the forum as a whole if this should be persued or left alone.  Join when time permits and if not the results and inevitable wreck discussion will be up to follow on the forum.

Details to follow this evening!!!!

Ok, here are the details.  Subject to change if only a few people show.

Muscle Inc. Tracks
   Diamondback
   Sunset Infield Short
   Maple Valley Reverse

ALS Track
   Tsukuba

FCT Track
   Suzuka East

Please try to have at least one car from each series ready.  Remember if its not fully tuned these are for fun.  I have to get an FCT car together and I still only have one ALS car.  Looking forward to some good racing.

everyone's interested, not everyone's in the same time zone. Post a time that's convenient for you to host, then others can post if they can make it. Personally, I prefer 9pm EST.

I'm in. Whenever I'm available, I'll be there. Tuesday nights, my wife is at work and I have to get my daughter ready for bed but, I'm usually available again by 7 EST or shortly thereafter.
I should be able to get a FCT spec car ready by then too. ( I'm a slow tuner )

I'm a slow tuner as well and I have run a few of my cars initially as builds only.  The first time I ran a charger it was built and not tuned.  My Camaro SS made its debut as built and F-dog tuned but not tested and it got me used to being a back marker.  I still have a blast so don't let it take away from your fun if you don't set the fast time or win every race.

I look at the online aspect as a way for us all to get together and chit-chat, run a few laps and check out each others cars.  And if your lucky you may even get to hear blooze make up a curse word or two, or finally find out what its like to get oldschooled.  A full room is nice but even with only 4 of us it gets good.

My schedule permits racing after 9pm EST, and we were still running at 11:30 last week for anyone on the west coast.  As far as the Europeans/Asians go, set up a time on a weekend and I'm sure anyone available will join.

Argh!  I'd be there for sure, but I have photography stuff going on the evenings of Oct 2, 7, 11, and 14th.   :'(

Every other Tuesday I'm free.  Sorry I'll miss this one, King! :(

No BMC its all or nothing  >:( >:(  AARRRGGGGHHHH.

Just kidding, I'll head these things up as long as my schedule permits and if I race alone its fine and if by some miracle we have 3 rooms going that would be good too.  Just want to judge the overall concensus on this seemingly hot topic.

I like Tuesdays, and 9pm EST works for me... 8pm CST actually.  I'm just fine with that.  I may not make every event, but I'll try to show up for them.  I don't know if I'd told everyone here, but where I live, we aren't offered high-speed internet(Damn you backwoods Alabama, DAMN YOU!) so I have to head over to a friend's apartment, some 30 minutes out.  He's a huge Halo fan, and since I've already finished the story, I'm pretty much finished with that game(I may get the urge to play multiplayer every now and again).  Anyways, this all makes it hard for me to make and set a schedule, because after all, I'm on his time.  When/if we ever get any sort of broadband offered, you can bet your ass you will have a hard time getting rid of me.   :P

Attendance isn't mandatory I simply suggested a day and time and I'll open a room to anyone who joins.  The tracks are only a suggestion of scheduled events and if a majority care to run elsewhere, we will adjust as necessary.  I hope its still a good lite-hearted event like it has been.

For anyone in other time zones, feel free to pop in whenever.  The more the merrier.

Foreign Classics and American Legend Series.  The specs are in the FCT/ALS forum.

Turns out my shooting plans for tomorrow are canceled, so with any luck I should be there to ensure the wreck is a really big one! ;D
