A Class US RWD grip tester needed
« on: April 02, 2009, 08:20:53 AM »
I am entering a competition for US RWD grip cars.

I am building up a few cars to test out and so far results are fairly promising including a 69 Camaro SS which goes around RA in 82.xxx.

Would anybody be willing to run some laps for me to give feedback and suggestions?  You can keep the car also if you like it.

-Kev

I can help you out if you want Kev?

If you're on over the weekend give me a shout and we'll set up a X-box live party and run some testing if you like...

Same here - if I'm on then just send a party invite and I'll jump in (provided I'm not in an online racing session at the time :))

Likely be on tomorrow night between 19:30 to 22:00 GMT and Monday 19:30 to 21:00.  Wife is out of the house then and boys in bed.

Thanks guys.

I'll be more than happy to join in, assuming I'm on.  I'll be in school at that time tomorrow, but Saturday might work, pending spousal approval.

Three Camaro's on their way on Friday.  I appreciate the help.

Quickly ran some laps earlier in Career mode with all sims on.
Ras - 55.691
Sebs - 72.555

Luckily ran out of time before I could do Tsukuba.

Presents should be waiting for you, be interested to see what you think.

Not 100% happy with the gears and not sure if I can live with the mid corner us when going in slightly hot.  It does feel very well balanced though.

American ones.  Don't know the circuits yet just that they are US based. So far I am just doing RAS and SEBS, but will need to suck up the courage to try Laguna as well.

I would guess they wouldn't make you go to Road America in grip cars?

Spiny thanks for last night.  I really appreciate time spent checking out the car.

I made a couple of in running adjustments suggested by Spiny which has cured the undertsteer.
pressure 28/28
toe 0/-0.1
diff 18/8

Spiny made lots of other changes which set up the worlds fastest drift car, lol.

I stil need to run against old tune to see if it is quicker or not.

Last nights times.
RA 73
SilGP 112.3
Lag 86.8
Sebs 72.2

Now that Motegi car was a handful! :)

I went back once I'd finished racing for the night and undid the last set of changes plus I made a few more adjustments before taking it out for a 4-5 laps at my favourite test track - Mugello Short. Best I ended up with from those was a 57.5, but it feels much more controllable, although as per my driving preferences it still tends to break traction at the rear first, just not as early or as sharply as the Motegi car.

I'll get it back to you in a few days to see how you like it, but I suspect that you already have that car pretty well dialled into your style.

I've had chance for a quick run out around RAS and really liked the way the car handled even with the understeer, I did think the toe looked odd so i'll be updating the settings to what you've posted.

Main change i'd make for now would be to the gearing, for me first is too short for a good launch but once up to speed it did feel good so it may be a worthwhile sacrifice, i'll try a few sets of gears though and post them up.
