GT400 Prize Cars
« on: February 18, 2009, 10:03:45 AM »
When I started working on the schedule for the GT400, I decided to paint pace cars for every race.  These cars are given out as prize cars.  Since my paints aren't that great, I'm also including a good tune/build.  These are the prize cars thus far.

12 Hours of Sebring: Corvette z06

Corvettes have been made into some quite memorable pace cars in the past, so I figured the current gen was a good canvas.  It's too bad the ZR-1 isn't in the game, because that's what they would really be promoting, but I did the best I could with what I had.  The build/tune is from a Supercars challenge Bimmer ran a while back at Daytona.  I tweaked the gearbox to set it up specifically for Sebring.

I figured that since we were at Mazda Laguna Seca, the car should be a Mazda.  Mazda is fond of pointing out that more of their cars are road raced any given weekend than any other make.  My guess is that the Miata is the main way to back up that claim.  Also, I had about 10 Spec Miatas lying around.

And thus is made probably the least surprising statement of the day :D
