A new toy!

Hows about we post our impressions and results with the new (old) Challenger in this thread over the next few days?

I ran a 2:01 on Silverstone in her, beating my ZR-1 ghost...she doesn't seem as heavy as the weight indicates so far.

More from me later.

I did my sort of standard MInc Light build (all tires and weight reducution with the spoiler) @ 54.5% and came up with an impressive 1.03.  However the car seems to be burdened with a fairly heavy drag coefficient.  Also, the engine's Hp peaks at 5000 yet it runs to a redline of 6500 and rev limiter at 7000.  I am off to put it on the Dyno, but I suspect this is going to be another car where you have to short shift if you want to stay in the power band.  I've already built one of my ersatz 5 speed trannys for it.

I'll have more as the morning progresses...

:) $

Add: The computer shifts the car at 6000 RPM, which shows up in the Dyno Run.  The Red Line will not be the best place to shift this car.

Well...

I haven't gotten a chance to really mod them yet, but I can say that I was very disappointed by the new Challenger and very pleased with the old one.

I've got an (undriven) '70 Challenger prepped for Muscle, Inc, but I have yet to drive it.

More from me later.

PS: DD, check your PMs.
It is highly likely that the above post was produced with a drippy jowl.

Haven't run the concept yet, just the old one.

Odd quirk.  It doesn't have a body family listed, so you can run it in events that state no muscle cars, but not in muscle car events...

Don't have it up to B700 yet (went broke) but with the stage 2 weight reduction/cams and the widest tires (both the fronts and the backs get bigger) it is a very easy car to manage, and I haven't even begun to tune it at all.  I love the torque though.  Where are you guys shifting at?  I've been between 6300 and 6500 but that may have more to do with the crappy gear ratios  I'm probably gonna yank the cams and go for something else as well because the Hemi doesn't seem like the extra revs are gonna help.

Here's the Challenger I wanted.  Well as close as I can get.  I'm biased though because its the only muscle car I've ever driven...

But I would love to drive this thing with a high winding/lighter 340 six pak.

Ah well, back to the track!

I've been bitching about that for the Fords too. I've been wanting a Boss '02 since FM1 came out. An old skool TA battle would be great.

I'm guessing that it has to do with that Larry Shinoda's family holds the rights to the Boss name. That's the only thing that I can think of that would hold it back. Rumors inside Ford have been placing a Boss special edition for the last 5 years, with nothing yet. But if that was true then why would the Boss '9 be in there. Give me a small block!

I'll even take a '65 GT 350, or a '69-'70 SB Mach 1. Anything with a small block

The one thing I have noticed so far is the VERY high coefficient of drag. This is yet another reason why I am not a fan of using the Charger: in-game it has freakishly good aerodynamics.
